Last year the Lions were 1-6 heading into week 9. They went 8-2 the rest of the way. Which team, with a horrible record right now, do you think will finish the season off strong and be a spoiler along the way?

Last year the Dolphins were 8-3 heading into week 13 and then finished off with 5 straight losses, almost missing the playoffs. Which team, with a great record right now, do you think will end the year with a bad streak of losses?

My fear is that my Lions are about to come up against a bunch of bad losses. 5 divisional games (which always can go either way) two of which are against the Vikings who are putting together a streak and getting healthy plus 2 more against the Bears who have a mobile QB that seem to give the Lions D fits. Plus the Cowboys! Maybe its the 30 year Detroit fan in me expecting the worst, but I fear them even losing the division. Its set up too perfectly for us Lions fans to have the proverbial "ball pulled out by Lucy" in week 16-18.

Chargers. Not because of anything positive, just because it will create positive vibes among those in charge (and a more naive section of the fan base), and keep us in our cycle of mediocrity.

I think the late run candidates are the Bills and Chargers. Seahawks Browns, and Steelers for the collapse.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

IDK how wild this is but the Broncos are making the playoffs. Vikings and Josh Dobbs will still be solid but not good enough to overcome an incomplete team and they will lose more close games

Collapse is gonna be the Ravens. Not trying to jinx it but I’ve got a weird feeling about Lamar. Playoff run either the Broncos or Vikings.

I’ve got a weird feeling about Lamar.

Its not a weird feeling, its called historical evidence. If we get behind early whatever game we're in its over.

The Jets will get the Wild Card and Aaron will comeback in time to win it all

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Surely Pittsburgh will lose a bunch, Denver or the chargers could go on a run

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Our last 3 games are against the cowboys, ravens, and bills. It'll be rough.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Ravens and Eagles both have really tough schedules remaining. I dont think either collapses or misses the playoffs but I think both will drop a couple more games than expected the rest of the way and fall to WC spots rather than division winners.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Cowboys have to play the eagles, dolphins, bills, lions, and commanders twice. Crazy tough schedule

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

The chiefs are going to freak me the fu*k out by doing what the normally do: win weirdly… most of the time 😂

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I know everyone is gonna think this is stupid, but the Saints are about to go 6-1. We will beat the Lions and win at least one home playoff game.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Commanders (hopium)

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Maybe the Jets with Rodgers

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If the Commanders didn’t have such a brutal schedule I’d say them.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Remember when we were considered to have a “brutal schedule” early on in the season?

Which the record shows that it was tough but as typical Vikings games go, we shot ourselves in the foot with turnovers.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Texans run Jags collapse under hair locks

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

The way the Steelers schedule shapes up, they’re looking like they’ll finish the same way as last year’s Vikings, 13-4 and then probably lose a freak game in the Wild Card round lol

Buffalo and Cincy are probably both missing the playoffs now, with the Burrow injury and Josh Allen playing like he’s injured, and both teams have brutal schedules. I could see both finish with 10 losses

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

My vote is either Jaguars or Seahawks

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Lions are for real, they won’t tank.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Saints are going all the way this year... I say that every year but I was right that one time so.. Who Dat!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I don’t know, but I would be shocked if the Bears beat Detroit.

Chargers may not find a streak, but they are going to be among the more important teams affecting the playoff picture with every single match a AFC opponent after this week: Ravens, Patriots, Broncos, Raiders, Bills, Broncos, Chiefs

Bengals, Steelers, Chargers, 49ers, and Buccaneers are at +8 or better in turnover differential which tends to max at around +11 for a season with 1-3 outlier teams out on the curve--2019 Patriots hit +21-- and turnover differential is extremely high variance and extremely high impact. 3 of them will likely have no more than +11 turnovers on the season, which means getting turnovers at half the rate they have so far for the rest of their games.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Not sure if they count any more but Texans. Check out their schedule. I think they can make noise in the AFC.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Well I consider the Lions as one of the SB contenders, so if Dobbs beats yall we can at least appreciate the hell of a story he's writing

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

My pick would be Rams run and one of Browns/Ravens/Steelers collapse

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Seahawks will heat up at the perfect time, go Hawks!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Steelers will collapse. Their stats suck. Their record is better than they are.

With Burrow & Watson out for the season, I can see the AFC North only sending one team to the playoffs, which is the Ravens and all of the others crumble.

A week ago everyone was thinking all 4 AFC North teams would be in the playoffs…

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

The easiest non injury answers are Denver and the Cowboys ..

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

The colts are gonna run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Their record straight into the ground

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Late run: Minnesota. They are the best team in the North right now and once Jefferson is back, it's over. They MIGHT have a tough time in Denver tomorrow night but after that I think they run the table, including twice against Detroit.

Collapse: Detroit. Their defense is still one of the worst in the NFL and their schedule isn't as easy as previously thought. They face Chicago twice, and Fields in the past has torched this defense. Denver has seemingly got their act together after that embarrassment against the Dolphins so that could be a trap game for Detroit. New Orleans isn't terrible and have a solid WR corps that can easily embarrass Detroit's secondary. The Dallas game of course is an automatic loss for Detroit. I'm thinking Minnesota finishes the season 12-5 while the Lions collapse down the stretch and finish 9-8 while they limp into the final wild card seed participation trophy via tiebreaker like they did in 2016.

Browns will make it to the super bowl somehow only to be beaten by Josh Dobbs who they cut

Rams are gonna squeeze into the NFC race if Williams and Stafford come back 100%

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Homer opinion based on emotion, but the Rams.

They went winless in November 2021 and looked like total frauds, then they made the playoffs and won the Super Bowl.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I honestly think we’re toast and will go 6-11

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Damn, First Take in here looking for content.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

The Cardinals have been tough in almost every game and they have Kyler back. They’re going to be a spoiler.

The Eagles are 8-1, going into a murderous 4-gam stretch l, followed by Seahawks (always play us tough), the Giants (division, no matter how bad they are), the Cardinals (see above), and the Giants again.

I expect them to be no worse than 13-4, but I could totally see them limping into the playoffs.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Jags feel like the collapse team to be honest. Houston is going to start rolling.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The Seahawks will probably go 1—4 in the next five at best, or possibly 0—5.

Steelers mickey mouse their way to first place in AFCN. Ravens are still able to get a wild card, but their offense suffers without Andrews and they get bounced in the first round.
