This is the greatest YouTube video I've seen in quite some time. Fascinating, inspiring, funny.. this Bobby Fingers guy might be one of the most interesting people in the world: Jeff Bezos Rowing Boat

I might have to go and watch some of his older videos.

I found some old Melodiya and Supraphon LPs, these are old Soviet record companies. Peer Gynt by the Moscow Radio Orchestra . Awesome. And new music to me, Rimsky-Korsakoff The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh is a surprise. This is lively and interesting. There's one record with a label I can't read, will have to look it up. Also found another Menuhin record, which I haven't play yet.

I like the serendipity of finding new things. :)

Here's a cover ,

I would like a Venti, half-caf, triple-shot, caramel, mocha, soy, no foam, extra whip, extra hot, upside-down, caramel drizzle, with seven pumps of caramel syrup and seven pumps of mocha syrup, double-blended Frappuccino. Thanks you

What would be the best thing to paint newly cut chipboard with to lock in the VOCs from any formaldehyde glues....? There are products that come up in a search, but nothing local that I can find.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

"Locking in" VOCs smells suspicious and possibly scammy. A lot of VOC molecules are small and volatile (as per the name), so they will diffuse through thin layers of things like paint.

Paints emit VOCs too FWIW.

It might be better to ask a chemistry forum, they'll be able to give you reasonable answers and suggestions, not hearsay (like what I'm giving) or marketing (what the salesmen say).

In the mean time if you're worried about VOCs: ventilation prevents buildup, reducing exposure.

Listening to a really really old LP of opera love songs. They don't sound gentle or loving. 😟

Pat told me love is a battlefield.

I said no such thing. 🤭

Weekend weather doesn't look too good hey. I'm renting a car all day Friday for various appointments and errands (so excited to drive again after 6 weeks!!) and thought of extending it to Saturday but maybe not.

Partner encountered this spider on the laundry this arvo. Does anyone have any idea what it is? The pointy abdomen is really weird (she says it's not an egg sac)

Ahhhhh! on the fence about having a second day off sick, could go either way but time is ticking and I can't chooose

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I know the difficulty of this. Being sick (or slightly sick or tired from recovery) puts you in the worst position possible to try and make these decisions. Shouldn't a fit person be making important decisions like this?

I vote staying home and resting, so you can work better tomorrow.
