Shaq Leonard… wait what
For Denver, it's multiple options, and they are decently obvious. UFA's: Josey Jewell is the big one. Been a captain of our defense for a couple years now but we need to get younger amd faster. Cushenberry as well. Couple years ago was a hated Bronco for his less than stellar play. Now he's a decent center but not one we will throw 8+ million at.
Trades: Justin Simmons,Courtland Sutton, and Garrett Bolles are the big three. They are beloved by the fan base. Simmons is 30 and we would like to see him be on a contender to play for a ring if he won't be here. Sutton is good but not 15 million a year for two years good. Finally, Bolles is our best o lineman but if we keep him we will have three o lineman being paid 15 million+ each (Bolles, Powers, McGlinchey).
Cap Cut: Tim Patrick is here because he has had two major injuries in as many seasons and is owed over 10 million next year. I don't see him lasting through the off-season as a Denver Bronco even though when he is on the field he had the surest hands of the bunch.
Thank you 5 years 250 million.
Shaquille Leonard
Tyron Smith. He’s on the last year of his contract and hasn’t played a full season in a very long time. It’s going to suck to see him go because he still plays at a very high level when he’s on the field. It bothers me that a lot of fans have been calling for him to be cut/retire because he misses time, but they’re about to find out that the only thing worse that not having smith a few games a season is having him for 0 games a season.
Mac Jones is long gone next year.
Gabe Davis, I personally can’t wait. He’s such a limited player and his biggest upside is blocking which is totally what you look for in a #2 WR. Plus he thinks he deserves wider receiver one money so hard pass for me
Idk if other people are aware that Ronnie Stanley has been struggling so badly this year. I don’t know what the cap situation is but if it’s feasible I wouldn’t be shocked to see him gone. Otherwise, most aren’t really guys who aren’t worth what they’re paid, we just can’t afford to pay them (Madubuike, Queen).
If I had to guess probably George Fant. He's played very well, starting at RT for a good portion of the season. But that's because we lost all of our LGs for the season due to injury. So our original RT tytus howard has been playing at LG.
We have both our tackles signed for the next 3 years, and with how desperate the league is for competent OL play, Fant has probably played himself into starter money somewhere else on the market.
Maybe Lockett. He's due to make $27M next season and while his play hasn't necessarily dropped off, he has talked about not wanting to play until he's old and also got his real estate license last year. The FO cut Wagner in 2022 which makes me think he isn't safe considering we'll have lots of holes to fill.
As it sits he also would have the 8th highest cap hit among receivers next season and while I love the guy, I don't know that he's worth it at that price.
Harrison smith (because he will retire after winning the Super Bowl).
Sam Darnold.
We seriously might have to let him walk.
Chris Jones.
For so many people they just assume that he's a Chief for life, and he has certainly said that he wants that, but his tag number next year almost guarantees that he's going to get to free agency if we don't get a new contract done ahead of time.
Eddie Jackson seems like the most likely candidate.
Jonah Jackson
Non-Eagles fans might find it hard to believe but Julio Jones probably won't be here next season
Rashaad Penny also could be a shocking cut considering how important he's been this year.
This is a controversial one but I think there's a solid chance that with all the people we need to extend next year, Deebo ends up somewhere else. For a lot of people I think that's borderline sacrilegious but if Purdy continues to develop as a passer I think Kyle's likely going to be moving away from the wideback concept that's defined the past 4 years of Niners football.
Obviously it’s wait and see but I doubt D’Andre Swift is an Eagle next year if it’s not on super favorable terms for the Eagles. I think most people know Jason Kelce is likely done
You guys are just gonna draft van prann out of georgia and be business as usual lmao.
I know he probably is gone but he's still playing at such a high level right now I'd love if he stayed another year at least. Man's gotta make the best decision for his health and family though.
Lane on the other hand seems to maybe be on one year too late. Hard to say, it's really hard to be a tackle in today's nfl with the speed of these guys on the edge, but he's def lost a step and defense are capitalizing on that.
I would bet a lot of money that we spend our 1st this year on Lane’s replacement. Give him a year to sit and learn from Stout and then the big guy probably retires.
Niners might have to choose between Chase Young and Aiyuk unless they go full all-in mode.
Xavien Howard is probably not going to be a Dolphin next season
Which makes me sad
Danielle Hunter. He’s putting up a “give me the bag” type year and has a no-tag clause. He’ll take the opportunity to test FA for sure.
I would cream if the falcons got him - god knows we've needed someone who can get to the QB forever, but I suspect he's going to want a contender to come for him and I suspect they will.
Sterling Shepard
Justin Fields
Not so much a surprise but Derrick Henry. Dude simply doesn’t have the same elusiveness, quickness and vision that he used to. I stand behind the decision to keep him past the trade deadline to help Levis develop, but I get the sense that Levis and the Titans as a whole will be just fine once he’s gone.
Also, I can’t wait to hear social media act like the Titans have no idea what they’re doing once Andre Dillard is released. Sure, he was one of the hottest names in offensive line free agency, but now he’s probably the worst tackle in the NFL, and we have Jaelyn Duncan to evaluate for this week’s game against Carolina following a good performance in Jacksonville not to mention a possible top 5 pick for Fashanu or Joe Alt.
Andre Dillard was basically a bust the moment the Eagles drafted him. He was a reach and has never developed.
Michael Pittman. A lot fans love him but the WR market is very inflated. Downs have shown flashes and the colts are cheap and don’t use the tag.
Philip Rivers
Deebo could be gone next year or the year after when we have to pay Aiyuk and Purdy
I'm thinking Chidobe Awuzie or Tyler Boyd. No one's really going to be surprised if Tee or Jonah Williams are gone. But Awuzie's had injury issues and I'm thinking he'll get replaced by DJ Turner. And it feels like we're loading up on rookie WRs to offset a Tee tag and Chase's eventual payday.
I think there's still a chance we keep Boyd on a cheap contract, but that's not a particularly confident thought.
Travis Kelce. He could very well hang it up. I’m thinking he’ll try to make it through his contract, but he is thinking about all the pain he’s been in lately
The King
Russell Wilson
I won't dare speak it, but I have a sick feeling us Bengals fans could be in for a shock next season.
Both Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer are probably gone.
They've both looked old at times this year, but Poyer has more left in the tank and had made a ton more plays than Hyde so I could see them doing a another team friendly one year deal with him.
Theres a good chance Bosa could be gone. Mike Will is also almost certainly gone and a good chance Ekeler leaves too.
Ekeler, Mike Williams, Bosa
Would've said Shaq Leonard...
Mack or Bosa, and Williams or Allen. On the Buccs it's probably Evans.
Christian Wilkins.
He’s a very good player and an amazing culture guy. A role model on par with JJ Watt. (If you haven’t seen JJ’s highlights from Hard Knocks you should. His work ethic is ridiculous)
Unfortunately it seems like he wants to reset the DT market and we’ve got too many young guys we gotta pay to be able to do that.
Probably Derrick Henry :(
