Brilliant! One commenter also gets it:

Should be higher in the list. One of the only REAL alternatives to Reddit. Others are just other social networks or forums. It is open-source and has very similar features.

Those comments do make me feel pretty great :) . That. @[email protected] and I could build something out in the open that tech wise at least, rivals a company with hundreds of devs and millions of dollars at their disposal, is a great achievement.

Do not forget the political backing of many mainstream subreddits, that solely exist to push the US foreign policy agenda and also as police/military honeypots. And some also as racist containment zones.

Awesome! And the star is rising. A few days ago it was at 29 likes, now 35! :)

Was 29 until yesterday to be exact or early this morning.

I can confirm.

Conveniently, someone just asked for a Reddit alternative in /r/AlternativeTo. They would probably like to hear about this or something 😉

That's interesting, nice to see this very platform up on there like that. :)

Does anyone know how the alternatives are ranked? There are multiple which have more likes than Lemmy, but are listed lower.

There are hearts and there are likes.

Both are differents.

If I remember the likes are the most important ones.

The likes are specific of every alternative list and act like votes in Lemmy. You can give them when it asks you "is this a good alternative" or similar.

When I went over there and liked Lemmy, a pop-up appeared that asked something like "Is this the alternative you prefer the most?". So maybe my like appears as a single like in the sum of likes, but weighs more towards pushing that particular alternative up in the rank.

Very nice to see that

maybe you could do a live interview with a somewhat famous youtube streamer.
