I keep forgetting about the dev issues, lol. Deffo legitimate problems one might have with a software for sure. I don't run into that a lot over here on Lemmy.ca though, which is nice.

I stand by my assessment though. It's still weird to me to promote one thing by shooting down another. Feels too much like politics in North America to me. They could have made a "Support Piefed" community instead.

People can always find problems if they look hard enough, lol. There are probably some legitimate complaints about Lemmy, but nothing is perfect. I find their messaging weird though. Like, you can be pro Piefed without having to be anti Lemmy. Seems needlessly combative to me.

It appears to be a Piefed community. You can see it on Lemmy through the magic of federation though.

I meant in the comments. At the time I posted there were only two other comments and both in the negatives, but nothing else. The post was, and still is, decently upvoted.

You ever try any Spritz reading apps on it? Spritz is an e reading software that displays one word at a time at whatever words per minute you choose. Good for speed reading, but for some reason it's controversial amongst my reading friends lol. My Boox Nova 3 can play videos, so I'm sure the Palma has the refresh rate

What all do you use your Palma for? Can you get any third party apps on it? I have a Boox tablet from a few years ago and it's great for taking notes, but a palm sized eReader has been pretty alluring to me for a while.

Lots of down votes here, but not a lot of discussion... Bots?

I will vouch for Speed Racer. Don't get me wrong, it's corny as heck, but still also rad. The race scenes are fantastic! Kind of like a Godzilla movie though, you're not there for the dialogue.

It is an electric one, so a bit of an advantage over wood and string. The drone string is also doing a lot of lifting. Drones make almost any instrument better

And yet you didn't capitalize Mario. Interesting.

Gave them a shot, but they're just not my genre. Thanks for the recommendation though! My partner is more into metal and stuff, so I'll pass it on.

Perhaps this is a protest post, lol. If anyone knows how to appeal a removed post let me know.

I've been playing a bunch of Rusted Moss lately. It's a Twin Stick Shooter Metroidvania, which is appreciably different from the Hack and Slash type I normally play. Getting used to mouse-and-keyboarding a platform heavy game took a bit. And boy are there platforms.

While elements of Metroidvanias are there, this game leans way further into the platforming. I would say it's closer to Celeste than Hollow Knight. Imagine Celeste, but instead of a magic dash and climbing gear Madeline had a gun and a chatty grappling hook.

Anyways, I've been enjoying the heck outta this game and wanted to share. While you're here I will accept any and all Metroidvania recommendations. Except for Cookie Cutter probably.

So many books have characters remark "it was well past moonrise", or something else equally ridiculous, to show the passage of time at night. ~~The moon cycle is a month long (~27 days), not some paltry 24 hours.~~ If you know any authors please spread the word. Together we can stamp out this astronomical disillusionment!

[EDIT]

A smarter than me commenter below pointed out that, due to the way days work, it does indeed rise and set once a day. Hard to do a complete rotation and keep a celestial body in the sky. Womp womp, I am silly.

I should have instead argued that moon rise and set are not linked to sun rise and set, and that the moon doesn't exclusively rise and set at night. It is possible to have the moon out during the day time. They are on different schedules is all.

Sgt. Fern Spellman couldn't stay for any more questions as there was a report of a caricature artist welding a pencil two streets over.

Seriously, I don't think that thing was sharp at all.

This looks great. I love the raccoon take on classic RPG classes like Mess Magus (Wizard) and Dumpster Diviner (Cleric). You can get the PDF for as little as $10USD.

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Wet Ink Games. I just like raccoons and TTRPGs.

An older Air Fryer that used a halogen bulb for the heating element instead of a resistive coil. Here's Mr. T selling one.

My precious kitty loved laying in cat food flats and on pizza boxes.

This unofficial series follows human progression into the solar system. Starting from putting a base on the moon and going all the way to discovering ancient alien ruins outside our solar system.

I think it's pretty neat how optimistic and diverse it is. There's a prominent Native American character. Fantastic!

Caveat, some women get thrown in fridges pretty suddenly and for seemingly no narrative reason. Not all women though, so kind of weird.
