Hmmmm. You smell like a troll trying to muddy the waters by arguing over minutia. You're writing a lot about something only tangentially related to the topic.

Who's arguing for peaceful protest here? And why is the binary of "peaceful/not peaceful" important to you? Are you trying to make the point that protests aren't valid or effective unless they're "peaceful?"
As a frequent teacher of tabletop games, yes, this is often what people look like when I'm halfway through my first sentence.
"OK, the point of the game is to deal 20 damage to your opponent."
"what 🫠"
"My sibling in Christ, you asked me to teach you"
Nice use of "gormless" 👏
The Redditification of Lemmy lol
The gen xer in me says "hell yeah" but the millennial in me says "Skinamarink vibes"
So, like, you're wrong, but there's a lot of nuance here.
- Pitbulls, if raised well, can be some of the sweetest and most sociable dogs around.
- They're still bred for fighting and violence and no matter how friendly a pitbull is, the owners still need to be very careful around strangers, kids, and unfamiliar dogs.
- In the end, humans made pitbulls, and I think that gives us a responsibility to both take care of the pitbulls that exist and also not breed any more. Like a lot of dog breeds, humans have bred them to be miserable or dangerous for petty, dumb and selfish purposes. Maybe the smartest and most compassionate thing to do is to let the breeds expire while making sure the living are as happy, healthy and safe as possible.
I don't think a backyard breeder would say "well, crap, the shelter can't take older pitties, guess I won't breed them." They're probably in it for money and clout, and they'll find a way to get rid of unwanted dogs one way or another.
You must be a bot because you just ruined the vibe
For your own sake, I strongly recommend forgetting about this thread
