That's what a control group is. All participants are given the information upfront about the study parameters, called informed consent. Participants can leave a study at anytime.

No one forced them to participate.

While they're Americanizing names, they might as well bring back Liberty Cabbage and Freedom Fries.

Another country to add to Trump's annexation list.

Not a movie, but BBC earth series (ie Blue Planet, Frozen Planet, etc) look amazing in 4K. You can see the scales on octopi and feel like you're underwater with the fish.

Libraries are free.

Unlike other sovcit chicken scratch, this person's writing is actually legible.

A spider plant might work for your corner. It likes to grow downwards, which may invite being attacked by your cats. A colleague has a spider plant and two cats, and its spiderlings always become cat toys that are detached from the plant.

It is a rock with no natural resources or life. It has literally nothing.

Hope you feel better soon! You have good company while you recover.

Manifest Destiny has been America's plan since it won the war for independence from Britain.

If you really want to stretch your soap bars out, you can get small bags that collect small bits of soap. Cheap hosiery also works great (if don't want to be seen buying it, order the cheapest set off Amazon). These are great for camping!

It's demographic terminology. Total Fertility rate (or TFR) simply refers to the number of births per woman in a given population.

(Not my cat)

Met this cat in my strata complex today chilling on some steps. It was largely indifferent, until my camera was ready and some screaming children were running its way. Even then it didn't run away! Hopefully I will have the opportunity to make this cat's acquaintance again.

I've had most these for 1-2 years and love how crazy they look.

My Calathea Bloomed (self.houseplants)

I thought it was just another leaf growing, but to my surprise it was a bloom stalk. It lasted less than 24 hours before expiring, and a second opened up. It's always cool to get surprise blooms!

Meet my potato forest (self.balconygardening)

Zone 8b

Varieties: Russian blue, white

Grown in potato planting bags for good drainage. They are in the process of flowering, and some have produced a fruit (very poisonous - do not eat it). Hoping for lots of potatoes this year 🙂

The floppy plants to the left are garlic (soft and hardneck Italian). They are fine; they got too tall and fell over.

Saw this guy chilling on my deck railing, and as soon as the camera came out, he struck this pose.

Not a social media post, so hopefully this is permitted. Canada is also home to sovcits, and this person is outright insane.

I also find it ironic that a sovcit wants a monarchy.

This floofy boi befriended me while on a walk around my strata. He's friendly and wants all the pets and scratches.

My lithops have been in various stages of splitting for the past few months. They have decided to show the process all in one pot! The potting medium is perlite.

I saved this plant from my office 6 months ago because it had nearly no leaves, and now she's green and growing in a unique way. If this is what healthy looks like, it's all good with me.
