You know, if you raise the corporate tax rate, there's actually an incentive to pay people more because that is effectively a cost of doing business... Food for thought.

I'm genuinely curious on how realistic this is... I can't imagine it's a simple process, but like what would need to happen for California to become it's own country?
Sooooo much freeedommmm.... By limiting self expression.
Rough. It's pretty reasonable to assume everyones experience will differ. But sounds like you got the short end of the stick.
I'll double down on the slight pitch.
I never got the kick in the nuts, was back to doing stuff the next day. Even resting for the rest of the day seemed silly for me.
Super easy. Took 10-15 minutes, chatted with the doctor while he lasted my tubes away.
Honestly, so easy it's stupid to not do it if you're serious about it.
Most countries require that your passport is valid for 6 months beyond the date of your travel.
Having something that expires "in a few weeks" is also a just reason to deny entry.
It doesn't need to be true, just convey a point :p
As one in engineering, I think our work is less about precision and more about solving (challenging) problems with what is needed and nothing more.
Anybody can build a deck that stands up, an engineer can build one that's just strong enough to stand up (for rated load haha)
I mean, I agree. I don't know why trying to understand the perspective of those you disagree with is such an unpopular idea?
I likely share a lot of the same views as others on here, but that doesn't seem to matter because I can be sympathetic to the "other side".
Look, I do my best to listen to right leaning ideologies, but no matter how correct they think they are, there always seems to be hypocrisy and contradiction in the way they get to their opinion on most matters.
If anyone ever wants to convince someone to change their mind on some core opinion, then calling them stupid isn't gonna get anyone anywhere but listening and asking questions (without judgment!) can get someone to follow. Look up "deep canvasing", interesting stuff.
Anyways... The meme was funny, my joking comment wasn't. Oh well.
I certainly won't say I'm an expert on the topic.
I also think legislation is a long road that could leave different loop holes. I'd be interested in others thoughts on a variety of approaches here, maybe some form of credit based on percentage of employee compensation related to performance. Obviously there would need to be an incentive to pay employees more and attach it to executive incentives.
