I created a new community that works with kbin
CoffeeBlood91
Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I will create an alternative one on Kbin. For some reason the Canada Lemmy doesn't get along well with other instances.
For example I posted a post yesterday to Lemmy world through Lemmy.ca, and it had way more upvotes and comment on Kbin. They simply just were not visible on Lemmy.ca
It's comfortable to hold, I have the kill switch on mine with the kickstand, I usually use a pillow or a table as a support with the kickstand up. It's still not as heavy as it looks, very comfortable in the hands.
As for heat, it gets pretty hot, but not scolding hot. It's designed to last years
I actually now feel like engaging in discussion again. Isn't it funny? I guess all my negative experiences with Reddit just shut me up on there.
I'm sure the programers have stuff up their sleeves.
AI is our biggest threat, it's gotten to be easy for AI to be trained to use the internet and engage in discussion. I just hope when that stuff exponetially takes off, it doesn't invade Lemmy.
AI is much like an invasive species, but rather than in nature, it's online.
Cyberwar incoming? Who's to know.
My biggest worry is that it becomes over moderated like all the subreddits.
I fucking hated writing a heated passionate post, only to have it automatically removed because I didn't read the fine print.
I prefer when everything is voted on in the community, vs automatic removals and strict mod's.
It actually took my motivation away to post, so I ended up just being a lurker.
The fact that there are so many Lemmy servers makes me feel as if one server goes to shit, there will be another one that offers more freedom of expression.
I also enjoy that that there is a specific instance for NSFW content, it keeps things organized.
Why can't we just let the users decide what gets visibility vs what doesn't?
I know it may be a stupid question. The problem with Reddit was it become to moderated to the point if you didn't read the fine print your post would get removed.
I think users simply agree what is relevant to the community and what isn't and will vote accordingly.
If the content is obviously NSFW take it down, and if they are spamming obviously ban them and remove the spam.
I really would hate to Lemmy become overmoderated.
It's fucking annoying. The amount of times I turned off autoplay and sound in my settings only to have it blasted in my face. It just makes me not want to use Facebook, it's become like a whiney annoying baby whenever I go on it.
We need a new MySpace/Facebook esque platform that isn't corporate, I highly doubt we will get that, and even if their was an option, most people wouldn't even migrate.
I was using Facebook as a means to see whats up in my area, everytime I go on now I scroll till I see something interesting, I get a few mins in and decide it's dead and close out of it.
Facebook once was a great tool for local postings, it's now gone to shit. I am really hoping to see another platform, preferably in the fediverse take it's place.
dot com is coming to an end, and people are seeking alternatives, I just hope it isn't a total fragmentation of the masses.
I am ready. I can't wait for AI in videogames
I'm there there are greedy mo-fo's watching. All it takes is someone with a nice big lump sum offer to the people that run the servers and that someone with revenue in their minds will sprinkle ads and premium features all throughout the instances.
