Yeah, it makes no sense to me, a 44 year old English guy who was taught metric at school, with a little imperial because our society still uses it in certain places.
In essence, I think it’s because the Boomers still have a stranglehold. Few years back there was a story about a sign put up in a park somewhere announcing the distance to a local attraction in metres. Some local boomer kept removing the sign, or changing the distance to yards or some shit, as if the sign was meant only for his use.
I’d love BTT on Linux too. The hardest thing for me with a move from macOS to Linux is losing the ability to zip about the OS with a trackpad. Also, I’ve had BTT set for years so that clicking the middle button on a mouse shows Mission Control. God, I wish I could work out how to do that in Mint.

I’m about to switch from iPhone to a Pixel 9 so I can put CalyxOS on it. Used iPhones since a 3GS in 2009, but the time has come.

I’ll admit that this one may take a minute to really get, but once it locks in you’ll love it forever.
It’s basically just an Irish author, comedian, and former rapper telling stories, talking about mental health (he also has a masters in psychology), and interviewing people. One week he’ll be interviewing a couple of lads about insects, the next he has Cillian Murphy on. Last week was an hour about how he ended up in an office canteen covered in black hair dye, holding a bag of lemons.
It’s a wonderful podcast hug every week, and I can’t recommend it enough.

I put Sequoia on my 2011 MBP, but it felt like a step too far for the poor old gal. So I wiped the drive and put Mint on it. Runs nice. My 2014 Mini server is running Mint too.
