Quake is awesome. I have the original game on CD. Definitely takes me back.

You know what I think a lot of these problems are? If they are honestly being truthful, then they are judging the game based on what they can and do play now.
There is a type of cognitive bias, I forget the specific word, where you are harsher on things that are older than newer.
In its time, a lot of older games are revolutionary. We can't judge them now under modern criticisms.

Loved me some Advanced Wars. Excellent game. One of the best portable tactical games since fire emblem.

I never played two, but I played the heck out of the original, and the demo disc for metal gear solid 2 on it, lol.
