Specifically Dark Souls 1, or also 2? Probably 1 since it's harder, but my friend did sorcery and crossbow only runs in 2.

EU has done some legislation on microtransactions, the most recent one being mandatory real-life currency price tags instead of the in-game currency ones.

It could be seen as a gambling issue rather than digital ownership, but it at least means they pay attention to video games.

"He uses League of Legends as an example. Pirate Software suggests there is no good way to make the game playable without its client-server structure."

I can't watch PS's vid right now, but how? How is it different from Counterstrike Classic or Quake being played by local parties? Is it because LoL would need to make all content available for free in the offline version? Capcom didn't seem to have a problem when making offline MegamanXDive. In fact, multliple other examples PS brought up fall flat because of that one. I can envision a singleplayer offline Pokemon Go, or one ran by fans. It doesn't matter if it's far more trimmed down.

"Pirate Software then admits that if the game [The Crew] had a single-player component to it that was shut down with the online component, that would be unacceptable."

That's literally what happened though. The Crew has a solo mode. It's innacessable now. It kickstarted the movement.

Being a consumer, not a dev, has nothing to do with it. We already have legislation against microtransactions, even if the devs only lose from it, because consumers deserve better treatment.

Also, PS allegedly has benefit in going against SKG because he's developing a live-service game. I don't know the name, and I don't even care, because even without that his arguments are shoddy.

Lastly, he was just disrespectful and called the initiative ass off the get go, throwing insults, and refused to engage in discussion. If he's mad about people treating him the same, well, you reap what you sow.

Does it still give you the ranking at the end for achievements? Or just seeing how much I got KO'd?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Which ones? Animal Well is still at -15% after a year, it's holding on.

I was a bit surprised to see Steamworld Dig 2 at -94%, but then I realised it's 8 years old.

Depends on which you did hear of. Spelunky you probably did, but is Octodad niche enough?

Ooh, try Full Metal Furies. I personally mostly played single player, but I think co-op should be cooler, though I only played a few stages.

One of the devs boxed, and while I can't find a source, I heard the walking is supposed to give the same feeling as stepping into the ring. Which is pretty neat.

But I started turning on Youtube as early as after the 2nd boss...

I already bought them a week ago, but Furi and Blasphemous since a friend got them, and we already beat Furi together. Gorgeous game, though the walking sections make me not want to play again, especially since my Furier difficulty save reset.

Also Bloodstained to go with Blasphemous in a bundle, since I was thinking about it for a while, and Beastieball, since I saw some posts from one of the devs on Bluesky a while back and they seemed cool. And the game seems to have great reviews.

That works just on Steam's side I think, the trick would be emulating whatever the game itself asks Steam.

I looked up the video in question, the game's called Champions of Breakfast and it's a pretty small $3, so we probably won't know because nobody gives a shit.

The first pirate software video I saw, was claiming he made an unpiratable game because it used Steam achievements to track progress.

I'm no expert, but I think that if it wasn't pirated, it's just cause the pirates didn't give a damn. And it sounds like it could cause a lot of problems like bad syncing, or making the game unreplayable w/o steam achievement manager.

Sheik exists... so it checks out?

Because it sometimes makes me feel better about there potentially being some purpose to us if we were created intentionally, provides a placeholder explanation for what's out there besides the universe, makes life more fun, and does not harm anyone (I'm not religious).

I'm planning to buy Sonic ~~& SEGA~~ All-Stars Racing Transformed ~~(what a title...)~~(Edit:I'm stoopid) and I remembered how fun it felt to control the first game on the Wii.

I tried looking up if you can replicate the same on the Steam Deck with its gyro, but my searches mostly talk about connecting steering wheel controllers. Did anyone use a setup like this from the community layouts, does it even work?

I'm replaying DeSu, doing the other routes one by one, and I've been wondering about how things play out if you let everyone die. Primarily how the Belial fight gets skipped (or so I heard), does the death clock, just, disappear before the fight?

Anyways, my idea was:

-quickly pick Yuzu route and 8th day on a "good" playthrough for another route, just to see how it looks when everyone lives, including the "protect Tokyo" sidequest

-reload save, do whatever other route I was doing

-as my final route, if I still feel like it, do a "jerkass route" where I let everyone die and do Yuzu ending

However, I know that you need Gin to do that sidequest. I guess I'll see the details once I do it on a "good" Yuzu route, but, if I want 100% completion on a single save, then I'll need to keep him alive? Or would I also need Haru alive, in case Gin gets sad and won't help? Or, most likely, I guess I'll just say "screw it" and resist the urge to see a 100% number on a save, if I did all I needed to over multiple saves. (Lucifer can't be that bad, right? Right?)

Also, right now I'm doing Atsuro's, I am way past the choice of letting Haru die, and will need to keep her alive for Amane and Gin's routes. So, Yuzu is the only I could let her die in now.

Alternatively, if there's a let's play, walkthrough or video that could satisfy my deranged needs to see these characters suffer, that would solve this problem easily. Or if someone tells me if Gin dying actually has any impact on the characters for more than 1 day. If not and it's just like two lines in the evening, I'll keep him alive on the "jerkass" run too.

Edit: Oh shit, I only now realised there's a message skip option, why didn't I see this? This should make replays faster, I haven't played in a while so this time I'm listening to dialogue tho

I've made it through the whole modern Persona series (besides dancing games) and the whole 3DS library. Also Nocturne and SH2.

I don't play to play the really obscure games like Majin Tensei or Demikids, but something like SMT1,2 or Devil Summoner (is that one translated?) sounds like something I'd still play. So, I'm barely halfway there, and these games were my main focus for a few years now.

I wish I had the dedication to do that

Not sold on Yukari's, but besides that they sound good. Shinjiro's and Ken's didn't do many roles before but I think it's safe to trust the voice director at Atlus West.

For a start I guess I'll just share the EOU manga, which is being translated by aariachang24. You can submit fanart or memes (I don't know if you can do that via mangadex though, so here's the Reddit post). https://www.reddit.com/r/EtrianOdyssey/comments/13jo6ax/etrian_untold_manga_guy_here_give_me_fan_art/

There's also the webcomics and the EO2 manga: https://mangadex.org/title/2c1ed758-4d64-4735-949e-e5148afa389e/sekaiju-no-meikyuu-comics

I made this sub as an alternative to r/EtrianOdyssey. Though it's not as big a deal as other subreddits migrating, given how small it was - it was basically just for new players to find advice (which, probably won't be here as much, given how lemmy is harder to wrap your head around) and for sharing fanart/memes once in a week.

What I did notice from my few hours on lemmy, however, is that it's pretty good at recommending new communities. So if you're from Sopuli.xyz (or other instance if this community gets going) and stumbled upon here, welcome! Try our dungeon-crawler with fantastic combat and party building!
