Interesting. I suppose it being an executive order does keep it to the executive branch. It's late over here and the brain hurts.

Too bad there isn't a law that requires the legislative brance to exercise powers of checks and balances. Maybe that's something to note for America 2.0.

Whatcha gonna do, judge? Ask again? Wait until deadlines pass? Delay has always been Trumpy Dumpty's strategy to maximize harm. No conquences means nothing to lose.

But instead of poking a dictator who doesn't GAF, how about holding congress Republicans accountable since, you know, they "control" finances. You start dragging them out in cuffs, I betcha it will get someone's attention, fast!

Every federal service facing cuts and mass layoffs should do this to raise awareness.

Ahh, this old chestnut again. Do we learn nothing from history?

Line up scapegoats. We all know the drill by now.

I thought this pope was generally regarded as nice, replacing the last post which was evil incarnate.

Even Catholics thought he was too progressive in some areas.

Nooooo! She was awesome and I loved those episodes she graced.

She will be greatly missed.

My subscription system now is a docker image that downloads interesting channels I specify or videos I add to a playlist. I do wonder how those metrics show up in analytics.

I stopped using recommendations when I accidently clicked on AI slop and that crap started taking over. It's useless to me now. If I use the legitimate YouTube interface, I spend half the time hiding shorts, slop, reruns, and jumpcuts-make-me-interesting influencers talking at me. Ugh.

YouTube used to be people who wanted to do or share things without kickbacks. Those are the channels I miss.

You forget, this would be another opportunity for the judicial branch to bypass Congress and "write" law, and they love that power.

Yes, I know the rules too. No, they consider themselves above the law.

Congress has too many cooks to change the Constitution properly, and likely wouldn't pass. An executive order and crooked judgement may be testing the waters to for future dictatorship.

First of all, thanks mods for your work. I know spam sucks and ain't easy.

I'm new to this lemmy thing, but there seem to be a few bots out there that may be able to help or ban spammers.

Could we maybe look into that and automatically suspend/ban posts that link to amazon? That would seen to put an obstical in this kickback scam going on.

Just an idea.

So we're posting Celicas now?

This is a project car I've been working on off and on for a while. Yup, there is still much to do (mostly cosmetic) but it drove for the first time since I totally rebuilt the engine...

... until the heater core hose burst and sprayed my leg with hot antifreeze.

It's been a really fun project and hitting this milestone feels great!
