I feel like the amount of actual trolls and bad-faith posters made many people hyper vigilant about anything that looks like a potential bait. The general polarization also causes people to react more rashly rather than approaching something in good faith and responding in polite and constructive manner.

That's not to say everyone is irrational and wrong about how they react but it really does seem like some would rather yell at any sign of opposition or doubt instead of talking it out. It's an unfortunate result of the times we live in, to some extent.

I'm still staying with the last week's list for the most part.

I'm continuing my low combat Daggerfall ~~playthrough~~ "lifethrough". I'm just traveling around and focus on doing everyday tasks for people. It's nice.

Time management in The Sims is slowly getting easier - it's still a bit of a pain but I'm improving. I'm thinking about reinstalling TS2 to compare whether it's just me or if these parts of the game were improved there (I genuinely don't remember as it's been a while since I played the game).

I'm mostly fine with Medabots: Kabuto combat system now as it can be worked around to some extent. More surprisingly however I'm not as annoyed with random encounters in this game as I usually would be, even though games like Pokemon or Final Fantasy tend to have shorter fights overall. Don't know what's the reason for this change but I'll take it - I'd have a difficult time trying to finish it otherwise.

Last but not least, I've been playing a few games of Counter-Strike 2 here and there. I don't expect to stick with it for long but it was interesting to jump back after few years of not touching the game (the last time I did CS2 wasn't even out). I'm positively surprised I'm not complete trash despite my break though it's not like I had any expectations to begin with. No way I can compete with peeps playing it nonstop for years.

Edit: welp, I tried to run CS:GO to check out whether some of my hangups with 2 are new or existed back then but the game won't even launch. Thanks for the legacy branch Valve.

If we're making requests I'd like to add some of my own wishes as well:

From Jan. 30th to Feb. 5th, we'll be getting a daily gift of Special Supplies. These consist of:

  • Access Key x2
  • Targeted Access Permission x1
  • Collapse Piece x100
[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

That's completely understandable. Personally I'll wait a few months before getting pessimistic about it but I am more of an archive hopper rather than someone who actively monitors for the latest news and posts so that makes it easier for me.

Codes:

  • Darkwinter: GFL2SPRING
  • Haoplay: SNAKE2025

Availabile until: Feb. 28, 2025

Here is the art posted with Haoplay announcement as a bonus.

Unlock instructions:

  • Method 1: Click [Redeem Code] and enter your UID and Redeem Code on the official website.
  • Method 2: Click the Settings button on the bottom left corner of the game’s main interface, and click [Redeem Code] on the bottom right corner of the Personal Information page.
  • Due to possible delays, your gifts will be delivered via in-game mail within 24 hours after redemption.

I'm still on a legacy plan (which still feels like a really good deal despite some small concessions compared to the new plans) but yeah, even with the new prices it's definitely worth it.

Also, while not strictly email focused but they have a blog with articles about various privacy related topics and news - it's a pretty neat source of info, especially for those less knowledgeable about this stuff.

If you only care about email (and calendar, I guess) Tuta is a pretty good choice. I've been using it for years and had only one problem very early on. Additional aliases are only available with the paid plan (€3 a month) however, same as Proton I believe.

Eh, I don't think it's that bad. Mio posted 17 days ago, Ruze 14. While they are not as active as on the bird app (I assume) it's still something. I'm sure you know how difficult it is to convince people to use a new site/app. Add the fact that it's a pretty new addition (all of their accounts are what, 2 months old?) on top of their Twitter profiles (something they've been using for a long time now) and one with a way smaller audience to boot - it's pretty normal it'll take a while before things start moving.

The little hope I have comes from the fact that more and more companies are moving away from Twitter. Considering its turn to worse is most likely to speed up it only makes me more convinced it will happen eventually. Will it be anytime soon? Probably not, Cover is a Japanese company after all, but the mere fact they already decided to test the waters with an official domain for the few existing accounts feels like a good sign.

Worst case scenario we can always start ~~bullying~~ messaging them about this topic, make them aware interest in their presence there does in fact exist.

Some talents already have Bluesky accounts (here's a starter pack made by someone on the subreddit a few months ago). Not all of them post there but it's a start.

If things go as they do at the moment I expect Cover to move, or at least mirror, their official posts there within a few months. Hopefully sooner than later.

From Jan. 30th to Feb. 5th rewards from In-Depth Search will be doubled.

Bingo event will be available from Jan. 30th to Feb. 13th.

Complete missions to unlock bingo fields and receive various rewards (materials and Collapse Pieces).

I just started playing the original game two weeks ago or so and time management is pretty much my main complaint right now. It feels a little too close to (or even more punishing than) real life, where there's barely any time to keep up with my character's needs after coming back from work.
It can be done though - I'm slowly getting used to how things work again and my sim has been leaving in a slightly better mood then before. Just need to get into a proper Sims mindset, I guess.

What's coming?

  • Major event - "Angular Gyrus"
  • Neural upgrade - SPAS-12
  • Frontline Protocol
  • New resupply gacha (x2)
  • S.F. gacha rerun

Welp, I was rather unhappy that a bunch of series I follow haven't updated in a while. Turns out some did, just not on Mangadex.

Fool Night, one of the series I posted here before, is apparently up to chapter 88 on Manganato while MD hasn't seen an update (in English) in 7 months. That's what you get for forgetting series got an official translation, I guess. Too bad it's 6 volumes behind...

Time to check out other titles as well.

Lets see how long it'll take for him to spill the beans.

RPCS3 is pretty great as far as emulating PS3 is concerned. You can check compatibility of specific games here but overall most of the library is playable to completion.
I can only vouch for Dark Souls, Drakengard 3 and Nier at the moment but all of those worked really well even on Steam Deck.

I can't say much about Xbox emulation but the two emulators I'm aware of are: xemu (has native build), and Cxbx-Reloaded (requires Wine). Don't know how well either of those works from experience, however xemu does have a compatibility page which looks promising.
