May I ask why you avoid Samsung? After trying out many different brands (currently using a Sony Xperia) I actually think Samsung might be the best option out there. There is always a big selection of cases and screen protectors available and the user experience is usually great. Not trying to advertise or anything, just curious.

Hatte auch nur glück, dass nur etwa 150GB von den 2TB beschrieben waren. Wären es mehr gewesen hätte ich wohl auch deine Strategie anwenden müssen.
War in einer ähnlichen Situation letztens.
Meine Lösung war: Festplatte an einen Windows Rechner anschließen, alles auf den PC zu kopieren, Festplatte an den Linux Rechner anschließen, zu ext4 formatieren und zu guter Letzt alles übers Netzwerk wieder auf die Festplatte kopieren.
War zwar nervig aber hat mich vielleicht 2 Stunden gekostet.
