Not the original commenter but I was digging for a couple alternatives before the end times arrive so thanks for sharing this

Does the lemmy import and export settings/saved posts still work? I doubt it but just thought I’d ask

If you want some neat mod ideas here are some highlight from my ~280 mod list

Legacy of the dragon born: this is my favorite mod HIGHLY recommend it, you get a museum for all unique items and a player home attached to the museum that allows for inventory sorting automatically. And areas for growing crops such as in the gallery of natural science and an outdoor greenhouse you can buy after unlocking the player home

Sky UI + script extender really expands the bounds of your game and skyUI is required for a lot of mods as it has an in game mod setting managers for some mods

The community shaders family of mods is cool and you tweak to your liking

Quality world map makes the world map look beautiful Or the DyndoLOD map (different mod) is more complex require an out of game tool to setup but my god is the map so detailed

Reliquary of myth makes the artifacts and some unique items like the archmage set not utter dog water

Diverse dragons or any similar mod will make it feel like Alduins army consists of actually different dragons

Ordinator (perk mod) is awesome REALLY expands the perks

Other mods by the same author are good too such as winter sun which is religion as well as standing stone and race overhauls (idr the names)

Another cornerstone mod in my playthrough modlist is frostfall + sunhelm + campfire which is three mods that imo make a better survival expirence than the vanilla add on

Basically sun helm provides the needs like food, thirst and sleep. I like it because it actually makes the cooking system relevant And then frost fall provides temperature. Basically going in the northern regions or swimming in glacial waters is deadly, different armors and clothes have different values of water tightness and warmth

Finally campfire which I think is a requirement for one of those mods is… well a campfire that keeps you from freezing and skill trees on the campfire that lets you endure more

Also you can disable fast travel with frostfall (I could be wrong it might be sunhelm) for that authentic survival experience But legacy of the dragon born has a vehicle that serves as mobile home and fast travel point. Basically it lets me fast travel but once I’m done exploring I need to get back rather than just fast travel when I’m out of the cave It’s called the dev aveza (might be spelling it wrong) look it up if you want or keep it a surprise

Fiannly wyrmstooth adds a new area like a whole new dlc sized world

Complete alchemy and cooking overhaul is nice too I just lost my typing braincell

I didn’t know I could export save posts

Do I just go to the lemm.ee website and export that?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That’s what I thought it just sounded like I could move the actual account

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Yeah that’s what I thought it’s just they made it sound like I could export the actual account

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago (8 children)

Wait is there a way for me to move this account or am I misreading phrasing

Well that’s some mad shit from some socialist bots to do that are within rocket sentry distance

Definitely reminds me of the no man’s sky Minotaur Mech just flying through the air

From the high command dispatch:

A large-scale, coordinated Automaton offensive has launched without warning.

Forward orbital observation posts confirm the rebuilt Jet Brigade is the vanguard of this assault. Unconfirmed reports indicate these formidable adversaries may exhibit new capabilities.

Helldivers: deploy to all systems under attack. Counter the offensive. Defend all affected planets, and prevent further territorial losses. Engage this high-risk threat with maximum aggression. Assess and neutralize any and all new tactical augmentations.

In an assault undoubtedly intended to deny our citizens the reconstruction of their destroyed homes, this unprovoked assault further evidences the enemy’s hardwired cowardice. It is a testament to their reliance on socialist deceit, rather than the true and righteous martial strength found only in a free and volunteer fighting force.

The intelligence gathered from these first encounters will be critical, and will ensure the Helldivers contain and punish this incursion with corresponding tenacity.

So first off if there’s a better community to post to I’ll take this post down and post over there

So a buddy of mine is getting a modded Minecraft server up and has some curse forge mods. As I’m away from my computer right now I thought I’d try to get it working on my steam deck. Did some research and the Prism launcher seemed to be the best way to go. So I got the game to boot with curse forge (no mods) and vanilla

Now some of his mods are server side and some are client side so I tried connecting to the server and it said “This server has mods that require forge to be installed on the client”, I’m assuming I got this because I’m booting through prisms curse forge and have no mods

So my question is, he has a code from curse forge that I can use to download his mods from curse forge but I’m not seeing that option on Prism

Helldivers 2 is locking out players who use older CPUs

So from todays patch notes apparently the grenade launcher nerf was unintentional (or at least over tuned if it was intentional) but grenade range is back whoooo

I also find it funny that Microsoft teams caused a crash, I always knew that it was ran by the enemies of super earth

So all I know that the Linux mascot is a penguin and Arch users meme about using Arch. Jokes aside I’m planning on making to the jump to Linux as I’m planning on getting a tower PC. I recently got a steam deck and that kinda demystified the (unrealistic) expectation I had of Linux was all command line stuff and techno babble. This all very future oriented questions* as I haven’t even picked out hardware (probably gonna go prebuilt since I do not trust me) and there’s also the matter of saving up the money for a new PC.

As for my use case (cus I know some software is wonky on Linux compared to windows) it’s mostly between games running on steam, which most of my games play fine on the steam deck, and essays and note taking for my college classes, which I use libre office and obsidian (with excalidraw to hand write my notes) saved to my proton drive and also sync those documents between my surface laptop and home laptop

My ideal OS would be plug it in, let it do… things… and it’s ready to be a PC to install steam and stuff

But first question, as someone who isn’t tech inclined and tinkering is pretty much just a few VERY basic settings in the settings app on windows, so is there a Linux… idk what to call it, type? OS? Thing??? that runs out of the box without me having to install additional software manually or at least automatic setup wizards because like hardware, I do not trust me with setting it up. As for installing it after I wipe whatever computer I choose I assume I’m gonna have some OS installer on a USB and let it work its magic.

Second question, is there any specific hardware that works easier with Linux, I can’t really think of any examples cus with installers and updaters I just the computer handle it, like updating Nvidia stuff in the GeForce app for all I know it’s genuinely performing dark magic during the automated updates

Anyways I probably have way more questions that I have no idea I had, but to wrap up I’m not super tech inclined since I let automated stuff do its thang on windows (if the computer can manage and install it I’m gonna let it do that) and my pc mostly just plays games and do documents on libre office and obsidian

I jumped around the rendezvous points without hitting the space station and forgot to take the pictures when playing earlier today. If I set my active quest to it, it says go to %planet% so I’m assuming this is a bug but I have no quest route in the galaxy map. I only visited the space station for the first rendezvous if that’s any help

Update: still no luck but looks like the rendezvous milestones autocompleted as I haven’t gotten to phase 5 rendezvous

Like the title says, do you all have any good mods that require a new save. I'm starting the extended cut shivering isles mod and as it needs a fresh save are there any others while I nuke my character. I've had helgen reborn and civil war overhaul book marked for a while now but is there any others that are good

I also love legacy of the dragonborn so while not required it would be a huge plus if it was compatible with lotd

So I’m running Reliquary of Myth and decided to finally use the ebony mail but my issue is the black effect is very annoying and mods I’ve seen so far are either incompatible with RoM or disable both the magic and visual effect

I tried Universal [Unwanted Effects Clearer ](nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/93977) (I free typed that URL cus slow internet hope it works) but my issue with that is I gotta cast the spell everytime I enter combat or the effect shifts from the low health effect to the high health one

During combat when I gain the low health effect it becomes a red smoke which I don’t mind it’s just the shadow effect that bugs

Are there any mods to disable or replace the effect?

[Various mechanical noises]

Ok, I guess two sketches today.

Power in numbers is a legitimate strategy but theres I also at some point I would like to play the game

I’ve been using the Dominator for a while now and it’s definitely fun but I’m wondering if there’s more viable options. I’ve been eyeing the scorcher cus it looks cool and I’m thinking my potato aim will like that recoil better than the dominator sending my camera towards the heavens above with each shot

Also side note, anyone use the new plasma pistol yet, maybe I can knock out the senator as my only used secondary
