Thanks for reminding me. Disappointed to see VCU lose yesterday, now just rooting for any other Virginia team before I go into straight "root for the underdog" mode.

When i say 6 lane, i mean 3 lanes both directions. I would say it's part of highway transitioning from a pretty large town into the suburbs. Top speed was 45mph, so it will still be a step up for her to go onto the actual highway.

Took my daughter with her learner's driver license for a drive for the first time on a six lane road. She did really good staying in the middle lane and not getting too stressed by the cars on either side of us. She is doing fantastic and i am enjoying the time driving together way more than I thought i would.

I do hate seeing a below .500 team hosting a playoff game.

I've always thought it isn't as much a football play as it is a rugby play to push whoever the ball is snapped to while behind the line of scrimmage.

I want less scrum and more Spider 2 Y Banana.

Or...hear me out, buy the beers from mostly IPA brewers that aren't IPAs. I'm not a fan of Voodod Rangers IPAs, but come September/October, I am actively searching for stores that have the Voodoo Ranger Atomic Pumpkin Ale. Good stuff.

Well, there is also a difference between railroad employee communities and a railfan community. Big difference. Thanks for looking.

Ditto. Can't seem to find the Lemmy r/railroading equivalent yet.

I'll just say, the more I hang around Lemmy, the more I enjoy the genuine conversations. It feels like less snark, less joke replies, and just a generally more community-type feeling. Reminds me of when I first tried Reddit after leaving Digg way back when.

Hopefully, us exiles can leave the Reddit back at Reddit.

Yeah, whereas I used to have dog food shipped from Amazon because it was cheap and convenient, now I pretty much only do it for the convenience, because it's priced the same as Petsmart and Petco.

Nah, it was a last-minute gift for her mom, and my wife didn't want to go empty-handed. The bad guys won that day.

My wife bought a Keurig coffee maker on Amazon for a Christmas gift. When it arrived, the box was mailed directly from JCPenny.com. I looked on their website and the coffee maker was $35 cheaper. We learned our lessons about dropshipping and only looking at Amazon for products.

Keep fighting the good fight OP!
