I heard somebody did an "awkward gesture" to a CEO in NYC some time ago...
It would be a shame if, someone did another "awkward gesture" π

Eh, parking costs is a huge problem.
Its probably the reason why my parents never got a car when they were in China.
Its the same in NYC tbh. I mean, brooklyn, maybe, but if you wanna go to Chinatown in Manhattan, yea... good luck finding parking. Its not even that "Public Transit is good" (NYC subway is filthy compared to China's subway, and also there's no safety barriers in NYC, feels sketchy to wait for a train/subway because you get the feeling like some racist is about to push you π), since missing a scheduled subway/bus is gonna make you like 30 minutes late. Its just that having a car is so inconvienient in a crowded city, so much so that even the terrible public transit system is better than having a car.
Now in philly, there is street parking, and malls with parking lots... so... yea we got 2 cars in the family... π€·ββοΈ
Okay I get your point but please stop using "mental illness" as an insult.
The silver lining of autocracy.
Why would a democratically elected leader plan for the long term if their sucessors, possibly from an opposition party, can claim credit for it.
In a dictatorship, they can plan for the long term, since they know they will be in power.
Also, the hyper-individualism in western countries doesn't make "working together" as a country easier. Just look at the anti-maskers and anti-vax people lol
And also, the big population in China would never allow for a "car culture" in the firsr place, since there just isn't room for that many cars, public transit is a must for a densely populated country.
I mean, cloud is more of an offsite backup solution.
Of course, the hardware you control is better, but fires are quite common, one fire and poof, your data is gome, and most people aren't rich and don't have second homes to set up a server in, nor do they have a friend willing to let them set up a server in their house. So cloud it is... π€·ββοΈ
As a wise internet nerd once said: "There no cloud, its just someone else's computer"
So true in this context lol
Are you looking for "Off Grid" secure communications?
Well I got a solution:
There are two apps you need to know:
Rattlegram is an app on iOS/Android that alllows converting a string of text to audio and play it over your phoneβs speaker
Secure Space Encryptor (SSE) (known as Paranoia Text Encryption on iOS) is an Open Source app that can encrypt text, turning any string of plain text into ciphertext
So you want secure communications, all that you (and the people you want to communicate with) need is a smartphone with these apps installed, and a ham radio. (Or if you want to test it all by yourself, you'll need two radios, two smartphones with Rattlegram installed)
Procedure:
Or replace SSE with OpenPGP, but the problem with PGP messages, is that they are much longer and you need to send multiple Rattlegram transmissions to send the entire ciphertext, basically its more time consuming. You want to finish your transmissions as soon as possible.
Voila! Off-Grid Encrypted communications.
(Encryption is illegal over Ham Radio in many jurisdictions. I will neither confirm nor deny that I have tested sending an encrypted transmission π
Ususally, most governments will not care unless you started to use it for insurrection or something like that.)
There are small ham radios you can carry with you, there are ones that are suppose to stay in one location (think like a desktop PC, you don't tyoically carry them around).
So to acheive the 9km range, you'll need to have both radios be very powerful, so the cheap portable ones won't work. These powerful ones are probably like several hundred dollars, and you'll probably need to put an antenna on your roof. If you live in the city, there's gonna be alot of interference from tall buildings, so you are gonna need to use a repeater that's been set up by someone in somewhere high up (unless you manage to find an a tall building that permits you to mount antennas and install a ham repeater by your self). Also: HF radio wavelengths will travel further than VHF /UHF.
So yea, just find a way to get the signal through, or live in a rural area where there's no interference, and you have yourself a communication system more secure than pigeons.
Nah, I wanna fly a plane. Apparantly depression make you ineligible for a pilots licence... π€·ββοΈ
Also the bad eyesight probably isn't gonna make it easier to fly a plane (I have to wear glasses all the time, and I'm too scared for lasik)
As morbid and fucked up as it is, I kinda wanna experience like civil war and just see what coups/revolutions looks like, I mean I'm kinda suicidal anyways, might as well experience something unique.
I wanna see humans land on mars, then permanent colonization and settlement of the moon and mars. Maybe even travel there.
Idk, like I'm just depressed and bored, and no movie or TV show is interesting... π
Idk about "boring", a domain name like "rip17762025.com" would be a quite funny one for an American
Well I heard that nazis are good at grammar
I wonder how long before this US administration makes "copyright infringement" a felony...

It's called a Hybrid Regime. It has both elements of a democracy and dictatorship.
