I could do with learning which seaweeds taste nice. All that grow here on the shoreline are safe to consume though some might be as useful as eating cardboard or taste disgusting. Beyond that, catching crabs is something I have managed a few times. Mussels I am not sure if they are safe as they are filter feeders and the water isn't that clean here.

Just don't board a plane. Should be fine, they probably won't crash into your house. Plus fewer people on planes reduces air travel which can only be a good thing.

Hardly need to go to the shops every day for fresh food though. Potatoes and cabbage last a while without any real change. Rice lasts essentially forever. Most fruits are good for several days at least.

Does seem a bit odd to me. I could fairly easily go for weeks where the only thing I buy is from Aldi.

I wasn't going to buy anything today anyway, easiest boycott I ever saw.

Mine has simple capacitive controls. Turn it on, higher number is more hotter. Very simple.

Apparently it has other features, not bothered with them.

Which most people don't. Also I could buy a portable gas burner suitable for a wok and gas canister for less than the standing charge of gas for a year. Unless you are using a wok extremely often its not worth it.

I don't have a wok, high temperature cooking would be nice for a few things like searing steak though. But that can be done over a BBQ. Kinda want to try heating a cast iron griddle when the coals are still orange hot and searing steak on that. Although steak isn't something I cook very often partly because its really expensive. Presumably a fair bit less cooking time than the packaging recommends. I guess get the iron hot enough for the leidenfrost effect to start and then cook until nicely brown on each side and then take off the heat? With hot charcoal that would probably be something like 30-60 seconds each side.

People can use email without having to setup their own mail server.

I remember it as the first time I thought Musk was unhinged rather than just rich.

Token ring networks is what they spent quite a bit of time teaching us about, in 2016. Perhaps fair enough to mention it as a thing that existed but they taught this stuff to us like it was current.

And takes 5 seconds to do it

C-url, like "sea earl"?

Had a kelly kettle for a while and love just how quickly it boils water once a fire is going in it. Isn't visible in the picture but the base is propped up on a stand so it isn't in direct contact with the ground.

Has anyone else got a similar stove or just generally has good recipes that can be made quickly by adding hot water? Other than pots of instant soup/noodles I have found porridge is a fairly easy one to make by just grinding up some oats at home in a spice grinder and mix with some dried fruit then when I am out all I need is to add hot water.
