Usb a is robust and durable. Usblc is frail and fragile. I've broken more usbc ports than i can count. I've never broken a USB a port.

If its not a space issue then usbc can go fuck itself.

A relationship is about compromise. He Didn't say to get rid of them. Just take them down for one night so they aren't the first thing his friends will relate you too. If you cant or wont do that then he probably needs to reevaluate his relationship.
