I think the point with all of these is that they are "cloud"-based. Except instead of the cloud being someone else's computer, it's your own. Let's take Immich, for example. Sure I could keep all my photos on my phone. But what if I lose or break my phone? What if I have an actual camera with an SD card and I want to offload those photos? Self-hosting lets me keep a backup. I can set up a server with redundant drives that itself backs up to a server in another location with its own separate drives. Thus, I have my own safe cloud storage.

To be clear, Trump's stance on Gaza is just the same, if not worse than hers. Everyone who sat out on principle did zero thinking about this and shot themselves in the foot and gave the rest of the Palestinians a death sentence.

In short, he said he'd "finish the problem," crush pro-palestine demonstrations, and that once it's rebuilt, Gaza "could be better than Monaco."

Edit: All these links are from before the election. There's been even more he's said since then.

You're leaving outthe part where he put the hard drive in a trashbag in the hallway

For those who've never heard the full story, Howells had two 2.5-inch hard drives stored in a drawer in 2013, one of which he intended to get rid of and another that had a digital wallet with 7,500 Bitcoin. He put the drive containing the crypto in a black trash bag during an office sort-out and left it in the hall of his house. His partner assumed it was there to be thrown away, so she took the bag to the local landfill, where it's been ever since.

Definitely hide so that they can't complete their quest of meeting all the people.

Here's a link to the standards: https://www.oscars.org/awards/representation-and-inclusion-standards

I've seen the movie and I think they meet 1/4. It's the other three concerning development and marketing they probably didn't meet. Note that they only need 2/4 to qualify.

It depends on the person. The fastest solvers all currently use CFOP but they'd probably still be the fastest with ZZ. Just use whichever feels more natural for you. Just remember that you'll slow down immediately after the switch and take a bit to get back up to speed.

ZZ is just different. If you haven't yet, learn the basics of ZZ then figure out which you like more. I tried it for o bit, but ultimately stuck with CFOP. I might try switching again, but who knows.

Many libraries and senior centers have programs to help seniors with tech. If he has an iPhone, then the Apple store is a good option too.

That's the joke

I don't think that's possible if they don't have a working boot drive.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Oh I see now. You should be able to import them. Worst case is you can't then you're back where you are now. There shouldn't be any data loss.

Yeah. As far as I understand it, exporting is more of a config thing. You can shut down your system asd boot it while missing drives (done this by accident) and boot while missing, and it'll say there's an issue with it. Shut down, pop the drives back in and you're good to go on boot.
