That's actually really cool to see.

Incredible.

Is he still doing School of Rock stuff? xD

Oh man, no wonder why they're so good!!

Been a hot minute since I posted that one Baroness track before. Here we have a signal change in their sound, where John Baizley started using clean vocals mixed with his raspy voice. As well as adding a more complex but slightly lighter guitar sound. This is still undeniably progressive sludge metal though.

All their album art was done by the vocalist as well, a very distinctive style; lots of bands out there have been using artwork done by him - Skeletonwitch, Black Tusk, Kylesa, and probably more lol.

Gothic metal with heavy touches of black and folk metal. From Portugal, in 1995. Linked is the closer to their debut, and my personal favorite of theirs, nothing else tops this. Reminds me a lot of certain Moonsorrow tracks.

Dissonant black/death metal with a different, hostile atmosphere that smacks you in the face. Linked is the single from their upcoming fourth album Doomed.

My personal favorite off the solo debut of probably one of the most well known people on the planet in terms of music. I don't normally love synths here, but they just work so well. And let's not forget the legendary Randy Rhoads on guitar. RIP o7 and to Lee Kerslake the drummer as well.

Sadly I can only link the track to the Memoirs of a Madman best of compilation on Tidal :/

German heavy/speed/power metal from 1988! Normally I'd've posted this in [email protected] but I feel it has more in common with my other speed metal uploads.

Alright, so I have a younger sister that started getting into punk and shit like that when we were both growin up, eventually settled on Sum 41 for a good year or two, and bought all their albums eventually. She'd blast em in her room, so occasionally I'd hear bits n pieces that catch my ear, like this very song lmao.

Canadian woman-fronted modern heavy and traditional doom metal! Got a huge Candlemass inspiration. Also got some fantastic album art, I'd hang each one on my wall unironically :D. Linked is the opener to their debut track.

Yep, that's one of their most played songs on Tidal. Comes from their first album - All Killer, No Filler.

This album comes from a Japanese group that makes music from various genres, most notably noise rock, post metal, drone metal and sludge metal. Linked are my big recommendations from this incredible album, being Pt. 2 and Pt. 3 - an amazing buildup and release. Though the whole album is a single drone, all the instruments come together during those two standouts.

Hear me out guys lol - give this ONE song a try! I don't recommend anything else that they've made, except for maybe the track Pain for Pleasure on a different album. I was honestly completely surprised to see a Metallica-inspired thrash metal song right smack dab in the middle of a skate punk/pop punk album lmao.

Tidal, RateYourMusic, and by gosh wouldn't you know it, not METAL enough for Metal Archives, well shucks.

So.. Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and Nirvana fame basically, practically solo produced an extreme metal album, mixing all sorts of genres from sludge, black, doom, heavy, thrash, and even alternative metal plus some punk on top of that. He definitely took the kitchen sink approach lol. It's not all that bad either! Linked is the single of the self titled album with a faster tempo and some catchy riffs.

There is a Bandcamp, but features no info nor does it contain this release.

EDIT: ok so It turns out this "band" was created for a movie called Studio 666, which is a comedy horror starring the Foo Fighters and has a bunch of this album's music as part of the soundtrack lol.

Bit of blasphemy maybe? Mostly faithful but definitely still adding their own style into it. Unofficial live video here.

Today we have some pure thrash, very similar to Slayer's Hell Awaits mixed a little with Demolition Hammer's Epidemic of Violence. Intense as all hell, this is from this Norwegian band's 2007 EP, We're Rotting.

Los Angeles modern heavy metal that sounds a lot like Judas Priest. Got a really nice bass guitar sound too! Linked is the first track to their latest record which happens to be the title track - put your best foot forward I guess lol.

neck breaking riff right at the 52 second mark 😈

Germany has such a rich heavy metal history, it's kinda astounding. I mean I know of Wacken, but it's staggering just trying to simply encapsulate all of it.

Fuck yeah! 🤘 Those of us at [email protected] would appreciate it as well I think!

I was thinking as I made this post "this reminds me a shitload of Vektor" so that's pretty damn cool haha.

100% I also prefer Dio! It's why I chose this one for the Sabbath upload. One day Ozzy will have a post here but probably like Bark at the Moon or friggin Mr Crowley or something in the future lol.

Found this while digging around a shit load - https://tidal.com/browse/album/9641103?u

Pretty decent 25 minute slab of modern thrash instrumental!
