Well, there goes a good part of my Sunday I guess. πŸ˜…

I was working on levelling and cropping the pages from Sega Pro 34 - July 1994 (UK), when I noticed the cover has a part of it torn off due to some cover gift which must have been taped on it 3 decades ago, and ripped off carelessly.

So, me being me, I got a bit obsessed with it and with the help of the PAL SNES manual as a reference, I went to work reconstructing the artwork as well as the letters that got damaged.

Pretty sure if I didn't tell anyone, no one would be the wiser, and in that case, I'm writing this one up as a success. πŸ˜„

The same cover after a couple hours of work in photoshop. Reconstructing the letters, but also part of the front of the blue car, as well as the background layer, which is much harder to do than one would imagine as the human eye somehow is incredibly good at pattern recognition, so when just copying the same part over and over, it quickly jumps out as being not right. But I think the way I go about this, that's not noticeable at all, even when looking for it.

One of my favourite videos I’ve seen in a long time.
Not just for the content, but the idea behind it.
These are the kinds of games we can get lost in or can escape to when real life gets to be too much.

Games that stay with you for the rest of your life and that you know you can go back to and enjoy them over and over again.

You’d be able to fill a full channels with videos on this.
Instead were getting the usual β€œthe 10 worst games/things from 2024” videos shoved underneath our noses for weeks on end. πŸ₯±

It wasn't actually a launch title, but it was pretty close.
I got my GBA on Saturday June 23 , 2001, one day after release as I used to go to visit my local import shop by train once a month, or sometimes sooner if something like this released.
They also still sold EU releases back then, so that's where I picked everything up.

Got Kuru Kuru Kururin, Super Mario Advance and F-Zero Maximum Velocity alongside it and remember playing them on the train ride back.

Castlevania released the same day, but somehow I got it 2 weeks later.
Probably spent too much at launch already. πŸ˜…

Surprisingly Krazy Racers by Konami was a launch game but Mario Kart came out in the middle of September.

I think Mario Kart DS might as well be my favourite in the series.
It's definitely my most played entry hands down as I played several thousands of rounds of battle mode on Block Fort alone in multiplayer.
Just the best.

I 100% agree with the score on this one.
For some reason this entry in the series seems to get a lot of hate and honestly, I don't know why as I adore how it goes back to the SNES way of doing things.
Perhaps that was what people didn't like about it...
Played this one so, so much and I was floored to see all the SNES tracks being unlocked after you complete the regular cups.
Definitely one of my favourites.

I had the SNES version and yeah, this was so damn hard.
Reminds me of Ghostbusters 2 on NES.
I was a massive Ghostbusters fan (still am) and thus I just had to get the game, but it kicked my butt so bad.
Still played it a ton. πŸ˜…

Follow up on this strange sentence on top of the cover of Total 64 No.27 Volume 3 Issue 3 - April 1999 (UK).

It refers to the following article, where they talk about how the website www.zelda.com was actually an adult site and not a Nintendo one. πŸ‘€

@Hundstrasse

That's what I thought.
It feels like that perfect 7/10 game.
Nothing that really jumps out to make it an all-time classic, but still a ton of fun.

EDGE gave it a 2/10 it seems. πŸ˜…

Looked up the developer and there's quite a few games that jumped out at me.

The Battle of Olympus
The Simpsons: Road Rage
The Simpsons: Hit & Run
The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction
Crash Tag Team Racing
Scarface: The World Is Yours
Prototype 1 and 2

Some really good games.

That's one of the five issues of NOM that I have that is missing pages, so I'll have to find new copies for those I'm afraid.

I still have over 300 magazine to work through, and lots of bills to pay, so I won't be buying new magazines for a while though. πŸ˜”

Sadly, we have all witnessed by now that reality most of the time is a lot more cruel than fiction.
Not to mention dumber, a lot dumber...
