This is also referencing only one health insurance company whereas under single-payer healthcare there would be many made irrelevant, I think the comparison is made just to add that sort of perspective

I think it just implies that since it's out on a platform that pretty much everyone has access to, global productivity will plummet due to everyone playing it and getting addicted

Haha hard to argue that one

They also conveniently forget how recently these jobs were hailed as being essential to the function of society....covid taught us nothing lol

Same here! Infinite universe to explore, I'd find a cool planet to rip around in exocraft, build a nice cliffside base, chill in a space station if things get dangerous, would be a sick time!

In the early days of Halo I was shocked at how fleshed out the universe was. The games seemed to rush through the story without a ton of background and when playing them I always felt like I was missing some key information. I read some of the books and a Halo encyclopedia and it's really easy to get lost in the lore!

The gift that keeps on giving, No Man's Sky. Pretty much just aimlessly wandering around and having a blast!

While I agree about the issue as a whole, both the post and article are quite specific that these particular satellites won't remain in orbit.

I only know what this is because of subtronics..."they must have amnesia, they forgot that I'm him"

Young me found that game so confusing! I remember getting stuck in Moria and abandoning it (after also spending ages in the barrow downs)

Some good scraps on that card!

I'm starting to find that HUDs in games clutter the screen and take away from being fully immersed in the game. I like games that force you to pay attention to what's going on in the game and not numbers/markers on the edges of the display. What are some of your favorite games to play with no HUD? Here are a few of mine:

Astroneer - this game has tool tips on screen but that's about it. There isn't even an inventory, all objects are interactive and you can physically place them on your backpack.

Battlefield 1 - super gritty and immersive, but playing without a HUD really puts you at a disadvantage online.

Red Dead Redemption 2 - I liked that you could hide the HUD, but the mini-map was a tap on the d-pad away if you get lost. It was a super immersive experience!

Grand Theft Auto 5 - maybe not designed to be played without the HUD, once you get used to the layout of the city this becomes a lot easier, and you focus more on landmarks to navigate and again this really increased immersion. Sometimes finding things in missions wasn't obvious and required consulting the map but otherwise this was enjoyable.
