Me, an adult, having tons of time and enough money to buy games.

A few devs who did have commented that Linux users are like <1% of players but most of the crash reports or things like that. That was before the Steam Deck blew up though, so now you might have more Linux players, but those mostly use Proton, so why do you need a native Linux version.

Finally, a rogue-like deck builder, there really aren't enough of these.

I played it with a friend and we had the exact same thoughts.

Thanks, gonna check that out.

I'm "playing" Melvor Idle right now, and am looking for something similar, when I eventually finish it.

I would like something that doesn't have to run all the time and can progress offline, and doesn't need a lot of interaction most of the time. In Melvor you can just start training a skill, and then just wait. No excessive clicking, no rebirth, just waiting for numbers to get bigger.

I'm definitely not as down on Rebirth as you, but I liked Remake more. The combat is still fun enough, even if some fights/enemies are terrible.

I've also been thinking of re-playing the original, when I'm done, just as I've done after Remake. Like you said, I remember the pace throwing me for a loop.

I have to check that out tonight. Performance was mostly alright for me, but yesterday in the Gold Saucer I had some big frame drops, every time the camera jumped in cutscenes.

Sometimes I want the freebies you get with the pre-order, sometimes it's about pre-loading.

before seeing actual reviews and not reviews against free/early access copies?

"Actual reviews", because you can only have an opinion on something, if you paid for it.

I played a bit of FFVII rebirth at the start of the week [...] I’m not sure if I wanna continue it tho

I'm also playing the game, it's kinda disappointing, since I loved Remake, but I like the characters enough to continue.

Yeah, I usually just follow the instructions, which seems to work 99% of the time. The main problem is usually if a mod still works with the latest game version.

I pre-order games. Steams refund policy makes it pretty much risk-free. Usually it's shortly before launch, if I want to play the game immediately anyway. For big games, reviews pretty much always come out before launch or on the day of, so I can still always cancel, if it looks bad. I don't remember regretting any of these purchases, even if I didn't like all the games.
