Basel 2 months ago. I've had the chance to get to know Basel's history and vibe in a gay date tour with my internet friend. It was soo lovely, even though I know that this 2-3 day of a date was a forbidden love in some way, but man these are GREAT memories to remember by.

Well these are all nerd terms, because most of the community in here consists of IT guys and people who use Linux, most of the time they are the same. You don't need to know what Docker, Self host, Fork, Container, Flatpak, Tailscale, Distro, Wayland and Nginx is, unless you are interested in IT.

Knowing Federated and Instance could be beneficial for the Lemmy users I think.

  • Federated: Imagine you are the resident of town X, and you frequently communicate and engage in town X, but you can also communicate with your best friend who lives in town Y, and your parents who reside in town Z. This is how Lemmy and Mastodon works instead of social media like Reddit, FB, Insta etc etc, where with my analogue the residents live in 1 capital city with no towns to talk with, and having to abide by their rules, whereas different towns may have different laws.
  • Instance: Following my analogue an instance is a town of this federated world. For example you are the resident of sh.itjust.works town and I'm living in sopuli.xyz

Thanks for the idea! Imma make it this week then, it looks unique with this fish grinding method, although my mom will hate it cause she doesn't like fish at all. xD

I want to continue my blog posts on how to deploy a correctly functioning *arr setup with k3s (Jellyfin, Sonarr/Radarr are done, Prowlarr and Qbittorrent are left) to document this process for myself if I want to recreate it in the future.

My other wish would be to bake or cook something new from an abroad country again, but there is nothing that catched my eye yet.

Try out finasteride. I'm 24 and just started doing it, because I've realized that my crown are is balding as well. Finasteride basically blocks the DHT hormones which produce this entire balding phenomenon.

It has some listed side effects but their chances are really low, so just atleast try it out, and if yiu get side effect, then you just stop. Do bear in mind that finasteride needs a lot of time to see some improvements

Wow didn't know that.

I used to love the eery atmosphere and immersiveness of the first installment, but I remember missing these aspects from DL 2 at launch day (pirated it), but I wanna buy it at the summer sale perhaps now.

If anyone played DL 2 recently, did the game get some more immersive improvements or perhaps are there mods that can make it have a more atmospheric feeling?

Hello fellow austrians!

I have an upcoming 6 day trip starting from May 27th and I want to choose a town somewhere on this train line, preferably in the middle because the train trip is quite far away from my hometown (Hungary).

Is there any town that's worth a short 1 night visit?

Context: I would be a first time solo traveller and I will only stay for 1 night, since I had some huge arguments with my parents about my original 9-11 day trip (they think the outside world is too dangerous for solo travelling), so I have to seriously compromise in terms of days that I can spend abroad. (24 M)

My friend of a friend is thinking on buying a Fairphone, but he've heard that apparently their support is kinda bad.

What is your opinion on this? Is it true?

As I was browsing the existing sources, I saw that Dailymotion can also be now used as a source.

Would you recommend to include Dailymotion into the source list? My list is: Peertube, Odysee and YT, but Rumble and Bitchute just always gave me some conspiracy theories and such, so those are a no-go.

My current backpack's zipline finally gave up it's service after almost 5 years of usage, and I'm looking for a new one. I haven't ever used a premium backpack per say, but after some searching I have found some good looking candidates for a daily commuter / shorter travelling backpack.

  • Thule Paramount 24L
  • Thule Paramount 27L
  • Fjällräven Räven 28
  • Fjällräven High Coast Foldsack 24

What are your experiences with Thule and Fjällräven backpacks? My backpack surely needs to be atleast 24L, because on my commuting days the backpack is filled up with a laptop, mice, headphones, and a gym bag (clothing + shoes)

I want to include some neocities/nekoweb style of feel a bit with my websites, where these icons are basically present in every site over there.

Apparently buttons and links are used for linking another personal wbsites, but what's different about these? Are these just synonyms? And what about blinkies and stamp?

I was thinking on buying a 2-4 bay HDD powered enclosure as a NAS for my mini pc, since I already have that, and buying or building a full-fledged diy NAS seems a bit expensive.

I want to hear some opinions from you guys, since it seems using this method is a mixed area from the selfhosted pros. I would be hoping that by using a powered enclosure, that would alleviate or solve the USB port overcharging issue, which have appeared in my mini pc when trying out an external HDD with a normal sata to usb converter.

Did you have any experiences with a setup like this one?

I'm not a german fellow, but I have a netizen friend who feels incredibly anxious and wasn't able to get friends in school, due to immense bullyings. They only have friends from the internet, and they have tried to socialize in a fishbowl event but they weren't able to get a friend there as I feel it.

In my country there is an event organization called havervagy, which has a bunch of events, where everyone is spliited into 3-4 people sized groups where they can get to know eachother. Do you perhaps have something similar to this one in Germany? My friend lives in West Germany, closer to the border of Netherlands.
