Direct support should have been immediate and global but each nation is too afraid of not being backed by all the others that they won't take the risk.

I wholeheartedly agree with the end, I am sometimes at odds with the means but it can't be denied that these activists have some of the biggest balls on the planet and I have nothing but respect for them. The message is clear and consistent, garnering huge publicity for the cause is good. I know some people don't like it but you try getting a multi trillion pound industry to cease causing irreparable harm and you probably wouldn't make your local paper.
What should be remembered is that it shouldn't take this type of activism, but what is left when voices are ignored?

Constant appeasement has been the cause of so much more conflict as a whole. No sane country wants conflict but when it arises, it needs to be crushed at its source. It cannot stand and each nation should be afraid to commit such atrocities in fear of the response. Tying conditions to aid given to the Ukrainian war effort is ludicrous. France should be very proud of their commitment to fight for what is very clearly right and other nations should follow in their footsteps. I am not advocating that Ukraine starts blasting missiles at civilians centres in Russia but they should be free to strike infrastructure that has clear ties to the invasion. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes

I'm currently reading The Bright Sword by Lev Grossman. I'm not enjoying it as much as I did The Magicians books (my favourite books - and the ones that made me love the fantasy genre) but I really love LG's writing style and storytelling. The story itself is awesome and well worth a look
