You miss the part where they were blocking roads while honking? Hell there were splinter groups blocking the border crossings. lol

Im in basically the same position since realistically the change needs to be at an institutional level. I can't really change anything by myself without excluding myself from most modern services.

We need laws and regulations. But like you I fear it's too late.

It all began with a DEI course for TDSB administrators that started in April 2021. DEI trainer Kike Ojo-Thompson (the CEO of the KOJO Institute) led a series of sessions for TDSB higher-ups in which she made a number of familiar progressive arguments, according to Bilkszto’s court filing: Canada is a more racist place than the U.S., Canada is a “bastion of white supremacy and colonialism,”

The rest aside, the NP saying that it's a common take that Canada is worse than the us for racism is crazy talk. That's a fringe view.

A bright spot in Ontario's otherwise dismal government actions. Hopefully we can continue this with more investment down the line.

Tbh I know nothing of the others. But how can they possibly justify Carolyn Mulroney? She's never served as a lawyer in Ontario and did nothing of note as the minister.

Is there any way for the city to fight the expropriation? I would have thought government wouldn't be able to use that ability for a private enterprise.

Been a serious decline since they last changed ownership.

when we vote for mayor its a direct vote. so doesn't matter if your ward goes "conservative" the vote will still count just as much as anyone else's. we don't use First past the post for mayoral elections thankfully.

For counselors because we do not have party affiliation at a municipal level so having proportional representation would be impossible as there is no way to count a vote for say Matlow (if he lost st pauls) to Brown as proportional seat for progressives.

on a provincial and federal level i 100% agree with you.

Do you mean instant run off ballots? I don't see how you would have proportional representation municipally. (For mayor or counsellors considering neither are party affiliated)

was really worried early on with Bailao in the lead. Was wondering if we were going to pull an Ottawa.

While she wasn't my top candidate glad I voted for her. Letting the city rot for another 4 years under Bailao wasn't an option.
