I am not a woman or a wife, but I kind of get this one as someone who has been manipulated into more than one engagement. It's obviously needlessly gendered but the relationship aspect of the joke is relatable. Manipulative narcissists are everywhere.
It sounds like you don't understand that most people don't have the safety net you had when you needed it. He wants to make it so nobody can count on the govt to provide that safety net for those people without other options. You're not just being optimistic, you're being naive and uninformed and ignorant, and frankly, harmful.
I think this is still optimistic, even considering how much harm this would inevitably cause. I think they're going to get around transferring power somehow
Are you serious? Maybe so people can live better and create things that are even better and more helpful? Or is "for the betterment of humanity" not a good enough reason to do things for you? I know not everyone has the time/money/ability to be focusing all their time on helping people but this is such a depressing question.
Yeah I like them a lot, in particular the ones about the Spanish flu, some even have conversations I have had basically word for word with anti-maskers/anti-vaxxers.
Some definitely try to do that here. (Armchair therapists/psychiatrists)
