If you can help it, probably don't be in the US at all. And, if you're feeling generous, maybe take a few of us with you.

Did they title the offer "Fork in the Road," too?

I've had an executive membership for 15 or so years. Recently, I'd been planning to downgrade my membership because I didn't take advantage of the benefits enough to make the price worth it.

I changed my mind specifically because of their stance on DEI policies.

Trump, from one "executive" to another, sincerely, fuck you.

We're gonna need a smaller boat.

🤞 Please let him personally oversee all of it, please. 🤞

I measure how stressful my year is going by how often I've rewatched TGP. January isn't even over and I'm now halfway through my second rewatch.

I don't like this ride. I want off.

Fuck, I am so sorry people are saying that to you. I can see myself saying it to a close friend as a gallows humor joke, but not with a stranger.

Hugs to you, my friend. You still being around, you not giving up - that is heroic.

You are a wise pancake, indeed, my friend.

I've seen a copy of the email. The offer also leaves it open for the agency to keep making the person work, so it's not a clear-cut "paid administrative leave" situation. Even if it were, there is no way they'd keep it going through the date they claim; they'd make up some reason to cut people off.

I'm about 95% certain this is a trap to get rid of what will probably primarily be federal employees who dislike Trump. The other 5% is still trying to figure out how the hell to get off this train.

Fucking disgraceful excuses for human beings. These people literally had to take time and energy out of their day to tell a private company, "stop treating different people as equals or (implied threat of litigation)." It would have taken zero effort for them to do nothing.

Repugnant monsters, the lot of them.

I don't feel good that this was my reaction, but I stand by it:

Yup. I made myself an alt account with heavy filters (and new ones being added whenever something shows up I can't deal with) for when I just can't handle the brunt of reality.

Mental health frog is still pretty beaten up, though.

Hi all,

I have backups turned off everywhere I can find the ability to do so on my pixel 8 pro, but am regularly (multiple times per week) getting notifications that my Google storage is almost full. Lo and behold, every time I check drive, I suddenly have a backup that I have to delete, again and again. Does anyone have any tips? It's really making me regret getting a Google phone, since I don't need my phone connected to my email.

Thanks in advance! :)

What are some (non-English) idioms, and what do they mean (both literally and in context)? Odd ones, your favorite ones - any and all are welcome. :)

For example, in English I might call someone a "good egg," meaning they're a nice person. Or, if it's raining heavily, I might say "it's raining cats and dogs."

I'm upgrading because my phone is losing (lost?) support. I use a OnePlus 7 Pro and love it and wouldn't bother upgrading otherwise. I'd appreciate some recommendations of android phones you like, please.

Thank you in advance! (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
