All for a car that is impractical and excessively large.

And don't forget heavy. The Hummer weighs nearly 4,500 kg, or 10,000 pounds, but can still does 0-60 in 3 seconds. F=ma

Perhaps even worse than this is when the hash allows you to enter what you think is your full password, but as long as the first characters are a match then it will succeed.
16 characters is probably fine as far as passwords go, but if the site is secretly truncating from 16 down to, say, 7 and still allows you to sign in, you don't even realize that your password isn't nearly as secure as you thought it was.

It is wild to me that the sticker price on this bike is $12,499 CAD when you can get a normal bicycle for under $1000, a normal non-cargo e-bike for $1-5000, or a used EV for like $20000.

Are cars being subsidized that much that you can justify making a bicycle that costs over $10k and market it as a replacement? I bought my current car for $16k, and if you put them side by side and told me the difference in price was three thousand dollars I wouldn't believe you.

Fix it again, tony. Hehe

Or alternatively, it allows you to enter a password as long as you like, but on their end it gets truncated.

Not only is it a motorcycle but it looks like the cybertruck of motorcycles.

People will drive whatever speed they feel comfortable and if you actually want them to drive slower then build the roads accordingly for said speed

You got that exactly right, but instead of advocating for that you've chosen instead to complain that the speed limits should be made higher.

Seems to work really well. I can do obscure searches like Outer Wilds and it will pull up pictures I took from my phone of random gameplay moments, so it's not doing any filename or metadata cheating there.

Nothing more nerve racking than biking up to an intersection and the driver's eyeballs are perfectly hidden behind the windshield pillar. I'm not moving until I know you see me.

Which model would you recommend? I just switched from ViT-B/32 to ViT-SO400M-16-SigLIP2-384__webli since it seemed to be the most popular.

Yeah I refuse to believe this is an ADHD thing

I may have been a bit bold trying to jump straight in to nighttime photography on my very first roll of film but I think I was able to get away with it. This was shot at EV+1 which I think held the shutter open longer than I expected, causing some shake.

I'm familiar with club level curling where teams aren't necessarily crafted to maximize wins, which is clearly the case at the highest level of play.

My question is how these team decisions are made and who has final say.

Other team sports usually have some organization behind them with ownership and management and coaches that make decisions on the roster, sponsors, training/practice etc. Does this all fall to the skip to delegate or is it more like a democracy? Maybe each team handles decisions differently?

I was just musing on the Ship of Theseus while watching the World Women's and it got me thinking about replacing each player one at a time until the entire team is different, at what point it becomes a new team.

Even though Kerri Einarson's rink had a tough week, they were able to make it through to the finals. Homan, however, showed us that she is an unstoppable machine and absolutely deserves to wear the maple leaf for another year.

Tire bead (lemmy.ca)
submitted 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) by apprehensively_human to c/[email protected]

This is a Schwalbe studded winter tire I bought a few months ago, and I'm not sure what exactly I did to get it like this but for some reason the bead seems to be warped or stretched. It doesn't want to fit my rims. There's a small section of the tire that's popped out of the rim, and when I try to lever it back into place the bead pulls out further down.

I've tried this tire on two different rims with the same results, and to make doubly sure it isn't the rims I put on one of my old Schwalbe Marathon tires which fit perfectly. Both tires are 40-635 700b.

Is this repairable? I don't have much experience dealing with tires but I find it unusual that this tire seemed to be fine until now when I changed out the wheel.

iam8bit is coming out with a new Collector's Edition as well as the Echoes of the Eye soundtrack on vinyl. Pre-orders start on February 29th.

I counted conservatively just shy of 50 of these little guys on an hour long walk.

When my stubble grows in, I just have to play with it. When I shave it off, I just have to feel how smooth it is.

It's maddening and I recognize that people must think I look ridiculous with my hand always stroking my chin.

When getting an android system notification for a new comment reply, tapping the notification slide takes me to the Mentions tab of the inbox instead of to the Replies tab.

Not sure if this is intended behaviour but seems like a bug.

When attempting to add an account, no option to enter my TOTP authentication token is available.

Thanks for the hard work!
