Living in the US, the last time I tried to buy "Brioche" bread (Sara Lee was the brand), it was just like eating a sandwich made with a dense shortbread.

This is how my friend in Florida got his bag full of airsoft guns past a school resource officer - he just told her the bag was full of guns. Apparently that works on Florida cops. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

It's been pretty nice. I started slacking on my charging schedule a few months after I got it, so it's degraded a little bit, but I can still make it through an 8-hour shift with Spotify going through my headset. The only thing motivating me to get something else is the locked down bootloader. I'd like to install something de-google-ified, but it's straight up impossible on the US version of the S22.

Outsourcing is extracting wealth from another nation. How can you possibly compare that to lifting ones own citizens out of poverty?

Tbf, my Galaxy S22 did this a couple months ago with a system update. All my battery optimization exceptions were reset, so my alarm clock app wasn't allowed to run in the background. Took me a week to figure out why my alarm wasn't going off, because they also changed the location of those settings to an even more obscure menu in app permissions.

Someone remind me, what's the first chapter in On Tyranny?

This is true. Apple's excuse for it is that it's used for FindMy and locking down a stolen device. So the Bluetooth and GPS and/or cellular radio still function with the device "off".

This is honestly exactly what programming is: breaking down big problems into step by step simple problems. If you've never considered taking up programming before, I'd suggest you try it sometime and see where it takes you. It's not hard to learn, it just takes time.

Gentoo with OpenRC is a good option imo

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but I'm not entirely sure that what you were cleaning was soap. πŸ‘€

I'll second Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Absolutely bursting with fun historical knowledge to give context to not only its world but ours. I will admit it's a bit janky at times, and mention that the sequel is coming out in the first quarter of this year I believe.

The Republican party is fully aware at this point that low voter turnout only helps their guy. The fact that they're allowed to do this, especially this late into the election year, is just absolute tyranny. They will always sabotage their own base to increase their power.

Update from Tom's Guide:

As of 5:50 PM Pacific the Xbox Status page was updated to say All Clear.

If any lemmings play this game and want to help out in coops, I'll be creating them throughout the day today as public coops, and probably as they come out later on as private ones if enough people join.

I just heard this song for the first time today on Spotify, and I figured some other folks at midwest.social might like it as well as I did.
