This is an underrated story I think. Elon Musk literally purchased the opportunity to fire the person primarily responsible for regulating Space X which is intimately tied to his other business Starlink. This is exactly why billionaires are dangerous, why allowing unlimited political spending by private parties is dangerous, and showcases the utterly broken state of our current regulation arm. Fuck Fascist Elon Musk and all the people who enabled him to do this.

if all it takes to keep a developer improving their game is to hype it to the moon and then turn it into a meme when it releases then maybe we should do that more often /s

forreal forreal though these game devs are the shit and I'm grateful for all the work they keep putting into this

Thank you for posting the wiki article, and regardless of how hypocritical this specific headline actually is, fuck Clarence Thomas for all the other reasons too. https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/press/releases/durbin-reveals-omissions-of-gifted-private-travel-to-justice-clarence-thomas-from-harlan-crow

I'm just a rando on the internet but I suspect you'll be just fine. KDE is much less memory intensive than it used to be and much of that reputation really had more to do with all the extras people would run (compiz etc..) Minecraft will work better if the server is on another machine but probably not enough better to make a big difference for you. Don't worry too much, it's pretty easy to switch window managers. Give it a try and see how it works!

This is exactly it, open source is not just the availability of the machine instructions, it's also the ability to recreate the machine instructions. Anything less is incomplete.

It strikes me as a variation on the "free as in beer versus free as in speech" line that gets thrown around a lot. These weights allow you to use the model for free and you are free to modify the existing weights but being unable to re-create the original means it falls short of being truly open source. It is free as in beer, but that's it.

This is a pretty clear explanation for all of Sam Altman's recent bootlicking, gotta get those government dollars. Line must go up or something.

hey FPVers, I picked up a goggles x and the meteor 75 pro hd last year and I've been having a blast

I've been itching to buy my next tinywhoop and that pretty much means going analog. I've got my conversion kit for the goggles x mostly worked out and I'm down to picking out an analog module. I was wondering what people recommended. Are the rapidfire and TBS fusion pretty much the only real choice? I'm mostly just gonna fly my tinywhoops around the house. Let me know what you think and happy flying!

Made it onto hackernews, what do people think?

Turned out so yummy, it was time to finally add another loaf to my repertoire. My first braid too!

All our servers and company laptops went down at pretty much the same time. Laptops have been bootlooping to blue screen of death. It's all very exciting, personally, as someone not responsible for fixing it.

Apparently caused by a bad CrowdStrike update.
