people were easily swayed by Facebook posts to support and further a genocide in Myanmar. a sophisticated chatbot that mimics human intelligence and agency is going to do untold damage to the world. ChatGPT is predictive text. Period. Every time. It is not suddenly gaining sentience or awareness or breaking through the Matrix. people are going to listen to these LLMs because they present its information as accurate regardless of the warning saying it could not be. this shit is so worrying.

they will never see it this way because they struggle to make connections of what's happening now to what will be happening in the future. right now they are suffering financially and making poverty wages for their labor. it's a dog eat dog world out there and these people become vicious and learn to play the game of capitalism, and whatever the repercussions are down the line, well, that's a problem for the future, they gotta focus on the now. so even if they are an inevitable target of the system, they aren't right now, so.. who cares?
i'd agree but if you read into how they discovered Hortman and her spouse it's because police were sent to the house of Sen. Hoffman and when they arrived they found him and his wife shot which caused them to proactively check on Sen. Hortman and her husband, but when they arrived they found her and her husband dead. doesn't make it not a cop but imitating them is far more common and this sounds politically motivated. they also found the suspect's manifesto with a list of names in his car outside Hortman's home.
y'know it doesn't bother me to target politicians but i just know the people who did this are fascists and i wouldn't be surprised if this was partly in response to the ICE protests in LA and how Trump and his team of demons are categorizing the demonstrations as liberal lefty chaos. these fascists ruin the effectiveness of a good execution.
our election was, literally, stolen. Trump and his fascists have spent years calling his loss to Biden “stolen” which ultimately harmed any real attempts at calling out future election results. many statisticians are sounding the alarm bells—something is wrong. the data doesn’t lie and the voting heavily implies manipulation. there is a group investigating our election results and making their findings public. they are very concerned with what they are uncovering.

outbreaks every so often aren't unusual so i don't want to be alarmist but this is going to happen at a higher frequency because of Trump's appointees. they're all corrupt and were only chosen because they've sworn fealty to him. for example, the dr. who heads the FDA, Martin Makary, used to work for John Hopkins and advocated for vaccines and masking and sounded like your normal average physician during the pandemic. now, a few months in to his role as head of the FDA, he's announced that covid vaccines are going to be limited to only people 65+ older or compromised individuals. you'd think maybe there's some supply chain issue or logistic difficulty or idk anything reasonable that would support the recommendation, but no, Dr. Makary thinks they "aren't necessary." in 2024 he was vocally opposed to vaccine mandates as well and hasn't changed that opinion.
i’m a little uneasy. it seems many are favoring Musk. is that the general feeling on the Right? some are calling for Vance to replace Trump. i could imagine Musk being welcomed back, and with a smarter (or quieter) fascist president for a figurehead Musk can continue pulling the strings. idk.

honestly, it reads more like the man with the rifle pointed into a crowd and started advancing towards them. literally protecting others is not larper behavior. a larper would incorrectly identify the time and place, but it's not as though the shooting here was unjustified; an immediate threat to multiple lives was present. now, should the peacekeeper be the one to hold a gun? it doesn't seem like it. i am confused as to why they are not being pursued for charges but whatever, the system doesn't make sense to me anyway.
