i enjoyed it as well! i went back and played FC2 after FC3. 3 was my first foray into the series.
Far Cry 3 was a leap from previous titles, and the formula hit so hard that the subsequent offerings (4, 5, and now 6) have basically not deviated from that formula - for better or worse. 11 years later, that formula has gotten quite stale but back in 2012 it was so fresh and exciting i didn't even play another game for the entire year. and this was only one year post-Skyrim. ah... good times...
maybe not a specific moment but i would love to play Far Cry 3 for the first time all over again.
i have noticed... different authors if i remember correctly off the top of my head. The Flood being based on Halo CE (or vice versa? not really sure) gives it more of an "action movie on the page" kind of feel to me.
i've started the Halo books. i finished Fall of Reach a couple of weeks ago and am onto The Flood. i've also dipped my toes into the Dune series and also the Witcher series, beginning with The Last Wish. in high school i read a book every other day and slowly tapered off as i went from reading for pleasure to reading for work as i became a Lit major in college. it skewed my love for books in a big way and i am trying to get back to reading for fun.
great game! i personally have never made it very far... but i love the pawn system and am excited for the next adventure in the sequel.
i really dig Everspace. i haven’t played 2 yet but the arcadey flight mechanics of the first really grabbed me.
i use StartAllBack and it is heavenly.
that is a crazy good deal for Deep Rock Galactic. i highly recommend. Rock and Stone in the heart!
i get mine from Ars, The Register, The Verge, and NPR so far.
i am also using Edge on a Windows machine. i like using the sidebar for Fedi stuff: Mastodon, kbin, etc.
