Because of this direct connection, both parties need to be online at the same time in order to message each other.
I hate to be a downer, but this is never going to be a platform lots of people use if you can't send messages to your friends while they're not online.
I'm willing to bet in classic Google fashion, they will be "deprecating" AMP, causing a mad dash to get back off of it.
Oh goodness, please no. This is not a media site where a recommendation engine is appropriate. Only showing people what they want to see is what makes Facebook such a toxic echo chamber. Machine learning is not the answer to everything.

Glad to finally see what the drama has all been about in context. There are clearly massive breakdowns in communication and feelings interfering with effective collaboration. One may not agree with GNOME's stance on theming and not letting distributors break apps, but it's clear that the GNOME hate frenzy these past few days/weeks has been totally devoid of good faith.
