You can't "flood the channels", not if there's someone who controls what you can say and hear. That's the whole point of the dictatorship analogy.

If you like this type of science fiction, could I interest you in The Space Merchants and Gladiator At Law by Frederik Pohl and CM Kornbluth? More prescient and much more biting, in my opinion. Also much earlier, having been written in the 1950s.

Made by the missus.

We grew the plant by accident, and while the usual harvest is just a handful at a time, they taste really fresh and great.

Edit: Thanks for the attention to this post. There's a lot of insistence that these are jalapenos and not bell peppers. They are in fact bell peppers, for the following reasons:

  1. They're sweet and not spicy.
  2. Jalapenos tend to have a more elongated shape.
  3. Green jalapenos tend to have a much brighter color.

I'm also in Southeast Asia so our pepper varieties are different.

Hope this helps!

Wow, that's a Dostoyevskyian level story right there.

Happy New Year!

The first Don Quixote book was so popular it spawned a lot of fake sequels. Cervantes killed off Don Quixote in the second book to preclude any more copycats. That's what I remember anyhow from the preface of a paperback edition from way back.

Missed me by that much!

One of the noblest and saddest characters in one of the most cruel stories ever written.

As I recall it was longaniza, cucumber, and carrots.

Yeah, I should have taken a cross-sectional cut to show what was inside. Next time....
