NTA. Your child knew the conditions and the timeline and they choose a low paying field. I'm not judging them on that if it's a job they are passionate about, but it's no one's responsibility to finance their lifestyle.
With his attention to detail, I'd love it if Christian could make a good keyboard for iPhone. The native one is terrible and although there's Gboard and Swiftkey, neither Google or Microsoft are good for security. And their keyboard apps are only minimally better.
And the app developer u/iamthatis was a class act right up to the end. Even had a free update on the last day and included an Easter egg.

The mobile app and web UI native to Reddit is terrible and I hope they lose more money by doing this than they gain by their advertising scheme.
