You don't need to announce to the world that you are blocking someone, you know. You can just do it in silence like the rest of us.

Reverse, mash the gas pedal. Wherever the carts skitter to, is where they land.

Have you considered trying to grow your own? It only takes 3-4 plants in a closet to make enough for a couple people, you can control what they're treated with, and it's market proof. And generally per weight it's cheaper than buying at a dispensary...

It actually could though. They've seen a fairly steep drop in consumption growth coupled with a massive ramp up in solar and other renewables. They install more renewable capacity every year than the rest of the world combined.

Say what you want about their lack of human rights but a command economy sure gets things done quickly; they at least recognize that energy self sufficiency is the only way to survive long term.

Yeah. Use website in Firefox and turn up all the tracking blockers + use Ublock + noscript. Firefox on Android let's you install websites as self contained "apps" on your home screen too, where it runs in full-screen like a native app (which is all the native app does in the first place, it's a lazy ass electron container).

Rich Asshole Ellison ran out of ways to be a dickweed to the rest of the industry he's in. So he's gotta branch out...

So, extra regulatory burden for "small" independent businesses while nothing changes for large corporations?

GM has absolutely cooked on this insane thing

I fully intended to buy Proton Unlimited during the black friday discounts, but wasn't anywhere with an internet connection and missed out. I need a VPN and a properly secure email service before January. Is it worth waiting to see if they post a christmas or new years deal or should I just do it and deal with it? I don't know if they've historically posted Christmas discounts or if it is just the Black Friday thing.

The proposed merger between supermarket giants Kroger and Albertsons floundered on Tuesday after judges overseeing two separate cases both halted the merger.

U.S. District Court Judge Adrienne Nelson issued a preliminary injunction blocking the merger Tuesday after holding a three-week hearing in Portland, Oregon.

Later Tuesday, Judge Marshall Ferguson in Seattle issued a permanent injunction barring the merger in Washington after concluding that it would lessen competition in the state.

Kroger and Albertsons in 2022 proposed what would be the largest grocery store merger in U.S. history. But the Federal Trade Commission sued earlier this year, asking Nelson to block the $24.6 billion deal until an in-house administrative judge at the FTC could consider the merger’s implications.

Nelson agreed to pause the merger.

If even half of Intel's claims are true, this could be a big shake up in the midrange market that has been entirely abandoned by both Nvidia and AMD.

I've been reading a bit of the documentation before I get started. Meshtastic's target use case still seems muddy to me.
Between the different frequencies and modulation modes you can use that don't immediately seem interchangeable, it seems to me that Meshtastic is more meant for you to build out your own local mesh network with consistent settings, vs. a resilient WWAN mesh network covering your town or entire city utilizing stranger's nodes.

Am I misinterpreting that? Is there a "common" frequency/repeater setup that most people use to create a public node that would let me contribute to a network in my town? If it's something that can be used for that, maybe creating a communication network that could survive a largescale interruption in power/telecom (either political or physical in nature), I'm so down for it.

I'm still definitely going to get some hardware and likely set one of these up on my parent's ranch, with bluetooth repeaters in the vehicles to allow communication where cell service sucks. But I do need help understanding it's usefulness to a public service.
