Read this to my husband.

Him: "I never know where the punctuation goes, so I rewrite it so the () are in the middle of the sentence and I don't have to worry about it."

Me: "I do that too!"

Him: (because we've been together almost 30 years) "I don't think we've ever talked about this."

I still have some covid home tests, will these still throw a positive on the new variants? (Assuming the test is still good)

Are you sure you're not a couple and it snuck up on you?

How long does it keep once you make it?

I grew up eating garden tomatoes. Went to college, for the first time bought a grocery store tomato. Cut into it, tasted it... turned to my friend, what the fuck is this shit?

Real butter for things where you can taste it. Store brand for things where the other flavors are more overpowering and don't really notice the butter.

I got a tortilla press and masa harina. I will not buy premade corn torillas again. Masa isn't that expensive, add salt, water, mix, press, and cook on a dry pan (or super lightly oiled, i put a very light layer on mine since it's cast iron)

So much tastier than store bought and better texture.

My Dad didn't get it either until I showed him pictures of a friend of mine who looks very much like a man, and is in fact, a trans man.

I knew this particular trans man when he was a feminine lesbian, and knew him the entire journey through the transition since it was public knowledge in our shared social circle at the time.

Since then, the old social media has been erased and you wouldn't know if you didn't know.

I said I'm fine going to the bathroom with my friend either way. But he's going to get called out going to women's room now.

I said what I'd been saying, it's always been illegal in living memory to assault people or peep in bathrooms. That's not going to change. And having guards to check genitals is way worse than the current risk of running into a bathroom criminal.

He finally got it after seeing the photos though and dropped it.

This is not a complaint, but a commentary on how I've been trying to get it to be more commonplace to talk about. Like the weather or a new hobby, lol

I've had a more social month. Was having lunch with my boomer uncle and he asked how menopause was going. He meant it in a very sincere way, and he shared some of what he remembered from when my aunt was going through it. He was glad the progesterone is helping my night terrors.

I was telling my husband about Naomi Watt's book, and he was getting angry on our behalf at some of the stories. He's planning to listen to the audiobook too. I'm likeing her book, it's kind of a cliff note version of all the books, along with a lot of personal stories from lot's of women.

My sons (step) and dad (before he passed) have been part of the conversation as well.

Which I'm realizing it sounds like I'm just around men, but I've talked to my sister-in-law and female friends and relatives too. I'm just around the men in my life quite often. My "found aunties" are also starting to check in about it too. They are 3 sisters in their 70s and 2 went through forced menopause because of breast cancer and are still hesitant about HRT after those studies. And they were brought up to not talk about it.
