For what it’s worth, there’s an argument to be made that electing Harris would be better for more people than donating to any one individual. Look at the havoc being caused by Trump. So many people are now out of jobs. Minorities are being actively targeted. The EPA and FDA are going to be basically shuttered and people all over the world will be affected by our lower health and environmental protections, and possibly dying of preventable diseases as we make measles great again.

Sure and I agree, I personally voted for Harris and while I wasn't the biggest fan of her, I would have prefered her in office compared to Trump and Musk. Harris probably wouldn't have basically hollowed out the EPA/FDA.

Harris didn’t need more money, she needed better policies and platforms,

Agreed. She spent a lot of money from companies and lobbyists on her campaign and she didn't need some random person on Mastodon/Twitter/Whatever giving her $100. If she talked about the polices people actually liked and didn't court over the Chaney's we might have her in office now.

but I can see how libs really thought they were doing the right thing. I hope things improve for everyone, but if I really thought my $5 could either go to one individual or legitimately stop fascism and protect the world, I know what I would do.

I don't honestly. When people on Mastodon said "How do you have $100 to a politician who will never know you exist but not $10 for a person you follow on Mastodon?" liberals then complained and blocked and moved to a new hashtag to dodge being questioned. And then doubled down by blocking tags and people while saying they were doing the right thing and ignored the people who were needing help with rent and medical costs.

For what it’s worth, I donated money I didn’t have to Bernie because I really believed in his fight. Would that money have done people in my community good, sure, heck it would’ve done me good, but at the time I thought it was the right move.

I donated $2 to Bernie personally, mainly because he refused to take SuperPAC and lobbying money. Harris and Biden had no issues with that and had enough money to win elections and run campaign ads. But also I agree my personal $2 would have been better spent on someone near me that day.

"Centrists stand for the status quo, they would never change for the worse."

"What if the worse is the status quo and normalized with decades of propaganda and brainwashing?"

"That could never happen!"

Average centrist L.

Seeing as some left to Argentina or were recruited by the US and the USSR for NASA, no they never were de-Nazified, they just wiped the blood off their name tags.

Surely they don't have a Neo-Nazi party office right now, right? No party called the AfD that does that?

Surely.

I'm sure she's just going "I literally warned all of you, and the government is using it as an instruction book."

The government mandated girlfriend will finally come true for Incels.

"But did you anarckiddies consider that if a government uses its entire military of thousands of people it defeats an organized movement of a few hundred? This proves we need Gulags and keep our "transition" state for until we run out of rulers. Checkmate!"

Why have morals when you can just trade them in every 4 years?

At least Republicans are consistent and honest in how much they hate people and don't pretend to like minorities for polling numbers unless its inconvenient.

Literally has happened too many times to count. They somehow forget all human rights abuses when their preferred person/team color enters office.

Human rights abuses are cool when your side do it, but horrid and should be stopped when the other guys are in office.

That is liberal honestly. Punishment of any crime means you are now an indentured servant of the state.

And we have homeless basically illegalized as rent goes up, so the forces who put out our fires are the ones who lived in those areas when rent was lower.

I don't see an issue with this satire.
