You might be interested in chaotic-aur. It's a repo you can add that has a subset of pre-built aur packages that you can install like normal.

You could also try the experimental GNOME Mobile or phosh, but those seem mostly aimed at phones instead of tablets.
That looks normal. It just cuts off the sides because the screen is narrower than the image. If you want to fit the complete picture and add letterboxes, you'll have to edit it manually by adding height to the image
If you don't want to tinker with a Raspberry Pi, a simpler alternative would be AdGuard DNS
