I started a job a while back where Perl was heavily used and I hadn't had much exposure to it. I spent some time just doing the same thing in Perl and Python and I really enjoyed working with Perl for the reasons you listed. I was just somehow very easy to use and be productive.

I haven't touched it since I left and Perl is completely unused and almost alien where I am now.

I had never heard of this when it first came out, but have had a blast playing it on the past few years after discovering it. Great game.

I played the demo that came with an issue of CGW or something like that in a floppy for a crazy amount of hours and it was a tiny part of the game.

This game was just way too much fun for multiplayer back in the day.

It amazes me that for decades this shit mechanic is still used.

The problem with Elite Dangerous is that it is basically an online game, even in solo play and they never bothered to figure out a way for solo players to pause.

It is awesome, if you can afford 3000+ a month in rent or a 5000k a month mortgage.

The original System Shock is definitely one of my all time favorites too. An absolute game changer playing that late night with headphones on.

Windows 2000 was rough with some driver support, but otherwise was fantastic.

Yeah this person does not live in most people’s reality. “Starter” homes are still easily 600-700k which is bonkers but 1 mil lolll.

This is mine for sure. Never gets old.

I really enjoy my Eurorack system, but 3.5mm just is not nearly as satisfying and easy to plug and unplug.
