If you're gonna do that it should only be after sending a very blunt CYA email.

I don't love the fact that he's a billionaire. I do respect the fact that he seems to be a competent governor who actually tries to do right by the people of Illinois. He made a lot of smart moves during the early stages of the pandemic and he actually managed to balance the state budget; which for Illinois is not a small feat.

I'm honestly surprised Pritzker hasn't had a higher profile within the Democratic party.

"Why do want to work for [biggiantmegacorp]?"

"Because ~~I need money and my aspirations as a pro bass fisherman were never really going to pan out~~ [biggiantmegacorp]'s values really resonate with me and I feel like I can contribute a lot. I can absolutely see myself here for ~~about two years max~~ the long term."

That movie is gold. The themes are kinda heavy and much more than relatable to adults. The air-conditioner meltdown and the toasters clown/bathtub nightmare scene always freaked me out but I still watched it over and over when I was a kid.

There are certain things which are required of those who wish to serve in the Trump Administration. None of those things happen to be intelligence.

Thanks for all the work you and the rest of the mod team do to keep this instance great. I appreciate the transparency on the operating costs and the opportunity for the rest of us to contribute.

What, if anything are you doing to help shield yourself against any personal liability? I'll admit I have exactly zero knowledge of Canadian law on the subject so I have no idea what what the implications are. I'm mostly just curious.

I swear I'm Canadian. I snuck into the US by swimming across the Detroit River. Please report me, eh.

No phone calls, only Zuul.

Edit: Just to clarify, my stance here is not "ignore everything Trump." He has done and will do quite a lot of things that warrant attention and concern. He's also a serial liar and world class bullshitter. A human testament to the phrase, "actions speak louder than words." Donald Trump's political success has always hinged on the fact that people are quick to forget that. He's already working overtime to distract from the fact that the majority of his campaign promises were just lies and the sooner he can make the people who voted for him forget all the pie in the sky shit they were promised, the better.

We have a rather unique Christmas tradition in our family. Some people like to get those gingerbread house kits and decorate them. We like to decorate them and then turn them into a cookie catastrophe. We call them "gingerbread crime scenes" but they're really more along the lines of Shrek meets Apocalypse Now.

It's something we started doing when our oldest child was probably 10 years old so she wouldn't feel bad about accidentally wrecking her gingerbread house. It just became an annual tradition after that and we have a lot of fun doing it. They actually seem to get more creative every year.

This years episode is "Gummy Bears vs. Peanut Butter Perps" (the 'ginger bread men' are actually peanut butter cookies).

"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas. Just like the ones I used to know."

Finally sucked it up and replaced our worn out water pressure regulator. Installed a shut off valve as well so I don't have to shut the water off at the meter every time.

The old copper with globs of solder is not mine. Whoever installed the water lines when this house was built should not been allowed near any tools, ever.

Case in point:

Our house has a large double sided fireplace right in the middle of it. It has a vent above the doors on either side to circulate the hot air, which is not all that effective. I wondered if it would help to have air forced across the firebox and decided to try an experiment. I rigged up a window fan to blow air into the vent in one room.

It actually does help. It makes the living room, on the other side, nice and toasty.
