Did you put yourself in the group operator?

no, but even when I did put my user into operator group it still doesn't work.

mixer command says the volume is 71%.

I think something weird is going on since my sound card isn't listed of the website but the kernel detects my sound card.

Yes, I tried doing that but it didn't work. It's something related to my sound card. FreeBSD detects my sound card but it couldn't play sound for some reason.

I have recently made a Pastebin in Rust. I have hosted it on Linode server, It's not something unique but I really like it since I have made it from scratch.

here is the link: https://paste1.duckdns.org/

it shouldn't be an issue because I will be running it inside a chroot. I might use UUID though.

Hello,

I found Japanese learning communities which aren't that active but it least I can find some new post there however there aren't any Arabic learning communities. I would like to join one :)

Hello,

I want a command line tool like graphviz to create graph in ascii. It would be nice if it can do more than just create graph, maybe some kinda ascii drawing based on provided input.

because sometimes I want to explain some stuff online and don't want create entire image using GIMP or something. I just want simple tool that creates the thing.

Thank you in advance!

Started learning Perl (self.programming)

hello,

I got into learning Perl because some people on IRC said so. at first I wasn't interested in Perl because I already know Python and Python can almost do anything Perl can. I still gave it a try to kinda have some experience learning new language. I am on chapter 3 right now and would make another post about my progress.

hi,

I am an ex member of tildevarsh.in . It was fun being a part of it. I was wondering if there is something like it.

hello,

my ISP is GTPL and they don't provide static and public IP. I have requested thousand of times but they aren't willing to turn off the firewall from their side. I want to change my ISP.

Is there a good ISP which provides public ip address?

Hello,

I am using qbittorrent for torrenting and my ISP has refused to open up firewall because of fucking "security" reasons. however I can still seed the torrent how is that possible? I mean all the incoming connections should be blocked right? isn't it how firewall works?

How could I get started with BSD?

hello,

I want to learn and deep dive into BSD systems. I am a Linux user for more than 3 years and now I am curious to learn and use BSD since BSD is similar to Linux and has binary compatibility.

sadly my laptop wifi card isn't supported by any BSD systems. so I can't use it as my daily driver. so where should I go or do to learn more about BSD?
