Once my avocados weren’t ripe enough for a recipe I wanted to make on the day I was having guests over. I searched for tips to ripen or soften them more quickly. One of these tips was to wrap them in foil and bake them in the oven (the tip specifically said it would help with the texture and not the taste). Well, it took way longer than the tip said it would for the avocados to soften and they tasted like hot shit. It would have been better to just save them for another day.

How it started vs. how it’s going

The funniest part of this is the poster suggesting that dogs are not sentient.

Deodorant; the antivenom to the Fediverse’s own species of pit viper.

It’s the beginning of the url to any real LinkedIn profile, which I guess is all the application form validates for. It wouldn’t allow me to submit the application when I tried to enter a written explanation that I don’t use LinkedIn.

For applications that have a required a LinkedIn url field, most of the time they will accept just “https://www.linkedin.com/%E2%80%9C as a valid url. I have never had a LinkedIn profile and have been called for an interview after doing that. Maybe it’s a standard template for some job application forms and/or the employer doesn’t care about it too much.

3 day work week with longer shifts, without hesitation. If I’m already engrossed in my work, it’s not hard for me to go another 4 hours, and I could accomplish so much more when I know I have 2 full extra days off.

I would absolutely rock the Lego jacket by itself (and do own a color-block jacket) and the lipstick, but not in that specific outfit combination.

Edit: if anyone is looking for a blue lipstick, this is the one I would get (although it’s darker than the one in the pic).

There is decaffeinated coffee if you’re looking to reduce your caffeine intake but still miss the process of making and drinking it.

One black coffee in the morning on most days. Coffee doesn’t seem to affect me but it’s a nice part of my morning routine. If I’m invited to a cafe or offered coffee at someone’s house I might have a second if it’s not too late in the day. Throughout the day, I might drink herbal and fruit teas that don’t contain caffeine (or minimal amounts of it).

If that’s true, it’s definitely a reason to avoid the platform, but has it been confirmed?

Paragraph 2 of their ToS could be interpreted as Cara claiming partial ownership:

The Cara Site and all works of art (“Art”) and/or other user generated content (including without limitation commentary, images, third-party links, and similar content and/or works) (collectively the “Art And Other User Generated Content”), text, data, and other materials contained in the Cara Site are copyrighted unless otherwise noted and are the property of Cara and/or the individual artist who created any individual piece of Art And Other User Generated Content (the “Artist”).

but then they issued this statement saying:

Our Terms of Service grants us permission to host your images, resize, crop, & display them on Cara. Cara doesn’t own nor sell your work.

From a quick search, there were also concerns about the third party app called Hive that they use to detect AI generated content using the art to train their own models, but Cara denies that in the statement above too.

To those of you who work out, how do you meet high protein requirements as a vegan? Do you supplement with protein powder? Track macros?

I don’t think I get the optimal amount of protein by body weight from natural sources alone and it’s not a topic I know much about.

Feel free to share your favorite recipes and tips for increasing protein intake.
