The most frustrating thing for me about Discovery is that the stupid right-wing backlash to it has resulted in valid criticisms being ignored and lumped in with those.

Riker on the Titan's "5, 6, 7, 8..." for going to warp was funny. The gag with Ransom was just awkward.

Centralising around Flathub seems to me like it defeats the point of flatpak being able to have multiple repositories.

Looks like it's a fork of Puppet.

I've done this before by packaging it in a snap. No filesystem access except its own snap directory, no network access because I didn't request it in the snapcraft.yaml, but yes GPU and audio access through the desktop plug.

I just like to pretend none of it exists except Babylon 5.

Finally a chance for me to install Arch on something!

I would also be interested in a defence of capitalism that doesn't come down to "but the USSR" or similar.

I think you're missing the point and getting defensive about arch.

I don't feel attacked by them, I feel irritated by some of them. The ones that irritate me are ones that repeat misinformation or otherwise harm the discourse, and that goes for memes that attack any distro like that.

Funny enough, arch is a distro I can't stand because of the (IMO) backwards and stupid ways it does a lot of things, making it harder to set up without any good reason. But I'm not out there spamming the place with "lol arch sux" memes about that.

Doesn't the trans person not respecting someone's chosen name make them no better than Haley?

Decency is a social contract. I'll default to being decent to others, but if they're not decent to those around them, I feel no qualms with being similarly indecent to them. The difference is that I only do that in response to their indecency and will happily stop if they start being decent. This is no different from the paradox of tolerance.

I'll default to respecting people's chosen names, but if they don't offer that respect to others, they lose it from me.
