Absolutely appaling and the worst part is they are likely going to use these surveillance powers to target anyone they suspect of engaging in anything related to protests. 1984 is closer than we think!

This is soon going to get mainstream news media attention so it is a plus for reddit lol

I agree its quite ironic that anyone serious about privacy will use reddit over alternatives.

Curious about this one, I would like there to be a way for the end user to pick and choose instances that they want to see.

I downloaded RSSGuard and it appears that I can't import my rss feed into it and they are online based?

I feel there is an issue here. What steps are lemmy going to take if so called misinformation starts spreading on the platform?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 years ago

Downvoted for that really?

Yeah but what is the 'correct information'? And who has the authority to say what is the 'correct information'? Don't you see that the attack on misinformation that is happening right now is actually an attack and threat to everyones right to freedom of speech? You give them an inch and they will keep pushing, keep pushing until we no longer have freedom of speech.

I know that liferea is really good on Linux, but I'm looking for a windows based RSS application that also has a dark mode. Any help would be appreciated

And it also stops people from owning a community to just own the name.

Yes. I think at least a month with zero activity should be closed to keep the communities that are on lemmy current
