I am building a semi-autonomus outdoor robot that needs to drive to user defined point. It doesn't need a state machine. It's for competition.

The problem: I will be provided a point cloud scan of the area few days before the competition and a few hours to drive around the area. I used rtab-map so far but there isn't a way to import a point cloud to use it for localization.

From my limited testing it works good enough (I don't have the full prototype yet), but I would really like the redudancy of importing a point cloud.

(Or should I think about multi-session mapping as my redudancy?)

Is there better library for my use case or should I just suck it up and hope for the best?

(Bonus question: Any navigation libraries that I should look into other nav2?)

Can you make an elevator pitch? I am still confused what problem are you trying to solve and, how it's different than existing solutions?

Looks like another musescore situation.

The business model worked once, time will tell if it will work again.

If you won't provide any details no one will be able to help you.

I think you should try out different file managers like GNOME files or Dolphin from KDE. One might solve your issue with iPhone

On bazzite

  • Can't change my Plymouth boot screen

  • Can't set animated icons in toolbar (KDE)

  • The screen transition I chose is glitchy

  • The translation tries VERY hard to be different from windows (idk what's up with that as on other system it was normal(propably, I would need to make sure))

  • I don't know how to run containers from within containers, but that's a skill issue. (I wanted to build piefed from distrobox)

For the longest time I had to disable manually a module so my graphics tablet would work. It was fixed a month ago!

literally takes medicine for a psychotic disorder

I would STRONGLY advise to not use LLMs and chatbots then. There are early studies that link chat bot use to making some mental disorders worse. There is no link yet to actually induce one in a healthy individual, but you are not one, and I would mark it as potential risk for you.

supplemental tools for my lack of higher education

Chatbots might seem smart, inteligent and educated, as they are using fancy and complicated words, but it's a lie. They don't know what they are talking about, they will be sycophantic to you and agree with every falsehood that it might came across.

You can pursue higher education without paying a dime. You won't get fancy paper, but you can build an expertise yourself. There are plenty of textbooks out there. openstax.org is great resource to get high quality textbooks. I have watched lectures on youtube to get an education that wasn't available for me at the time. No one will be able to take that knowledge from you.

yt-dlp and Jdownloader2 work most times

Input 0000 and 0 are the same in the flow of your program.

If input is 0 then the program prints nothing instead of NA

yeah, I tested most of the software, and still use Mastodon and Wafrn. I use mastodon to follow a hashtag, but it didn't deliver what it promised. Few major tech youtubers bounced back from it due extreme toxicity.

Wafrn is super wacky software. You can play doom and bite people. It has rage-bait driven development* and connects to bluesky and fediverse at the same time without a bridge.

Bookwyrm and Piefed didn't deliver what I would want from their respective domains.

*allegedly

IDK what are you about. I have made couple of game jams with it and it was fine engine.
