So there is the market capitalist solution of breaking them up and letting the pieces compete with each other, or the socialist solution of nationalizing them.

If this goes on, how do you know any of those airframes aren't as much of a sham as the 787?

This is how you end up with an army like Russia.

On the other hand, you do need to fuck up education big time, and suck hope out of the people with policies that only benefit the rich for decades for it to be appealing.

In your analogy, people today have no vegetables on the menu, just subsistence amounts of bread and water versus hamberders and cheap beer. And we get less and less bread every year.

People would like veggies, a lot of them, especially kids, but the veggie peddlers are beaten up and driven away by the bread and water people, since literal poison is easier to compete with.

One. Airbus is foreign competition, just like the Chinese company that now is entering the market.

The US govt will not buy Airbus over Boeing, and will not let airlines overwhelmingly switch to it either.

Being monopolistic does not mean you have no competitors, but that you are big enough to adversely affect the free market so that you can't be competed with.

So yeah, it counts, and so does Apple for example.

Of course, but if you put those few hundred into jail for the night to cool off, the paper will run that you are putting hundreds of Turks into jail, you racist.

Easier to just put in earplugs to ignore it, and pay for driving lessons so your wife can avoid the metro in the evening, but you ignore it for a decade, and now somehow nazis have the vote, and we are afraid of being caught in the crossfire as we already are, facing workplace discrimination and such.

I know it's not an easy problem with a clear solution, but it's a problem.
